I've never had a gramophone, turntable, etc. I've been looking into them a little but that's beside the point, because I've a 7" promo that I'd like to test the waters with. And by that I mean I wanna see if I can keep it from warping by the time I get a turntable/preamp in 2 months or so.. But really I don't wanna purposely fuck this up, so, can any of you give me some tips on storage? I'm really completely clueless on how to store it properly.   | ||

The main thing is to keep dust and humidity away. To this end, storing them in a large plastic bag should do the trick (each record separately) | ||

'Cos I can't find any way to stand it vertically if that would be better. | ||

As for storage: heat and cold are obviously bad, as is humidity. Also obvious: don't store your records in horizontal stacks because pressure can warp them and ruin jackets. I don't think plastic sleeves are necessary, but if you have old records you may want to replace their sleeves (old sleeves might be saturated with dirt and oils). | ||
