Just wait for university/college. Don't let the terribadness of HS affect your marks. Concentrate, get into a good tertiary education program and enjoy your future days with like-minded, intelligent individuals who likely had the same opinion about HS as you do.

basically you have to go through highschool without really giving a fuck about anything but yorself study decently, get some decent grades, ajnd carry on with your life, go to college or not, whatever. If you dislike your social environment fuck it, take care of your self, in some degree or another, you are obligated to follow the general concept that society has about a succesful individual you can go to college or not later, it does not matter as much as you think but it;s useless and stupid to complain or bitch about it, do the best you can and man up highschool is really trivial and people seem stupid if you grow out of it early my 2 cents anfd fuck im so drunk yay

I'm enjoying college far more than I enjoyed High School. Probably has to do with independence though - Highschool always felt so forced and restrictive. Oh, and being a nerd in HS can be pretty lonely sometimes.

just try to get the best experience out of it. my high school friends are lifetime best friends and i still go back to visit the school/teachers/etc during breaks. i would have to say i like college better but high school was awesome in its own ways. yea people are more immature and girls are desperate to be popular...so what, that's high school. can't imagine why it would be a waste of time. i wasn't a big partier or anything but still had so much fun in hs

But then I was apathetic in high school and many things probably went under my radar, esp. involving drama. TL is the only place I've ever experience this kind of immature bullshit that happens in American TV shows. The biggest problem I ever had in High School was avoiding people who wanted to be my friend but that I didn't like. The beauty of university is that you're pretty much anonymous anytime you want to be, and you never have to meet people you don't like. Even if you have a group project, the course only lasts 3 months.

Do some people really go to school to socialize? I thought it was just sleep through class, go have a cig and drive around with friends outside of school (graduated) for lunch, then come back and wait for an hour or two till I could get a ride from my friends to go chill (again ALL outside from school) starcraft with my 4 noob friends, WoW and such, videooooo games. Top it off with the good ole green tree and my friend, life is grand.

You have lots and lots of free time. You can waste it in any ways; if you find a productive way (like learning a language, or learning programming in C++ or Java, or learning to manage some project of your own) you can actually get a nice kickstart for later life.

I can't help but feel that they just created this place not to learn but to just stuff a bunch of kids together with different tastes and then milk the ones that turn out to be of some value to them for the most insignificant stupid things ever. i hate the imposed hierarchy and I hate the douchyness of the people that run this place including the arrogant self-centered, superflous kids that seem to be the center of the goddamn attention. God this place is such a joke, I wonder why people take this place so seriously let alone waste so much tax dollars on this shit. Luckily I am in my senior year but fuck this place!!!! I went to a pretty god-awful high school (relative to where I am now) where more than sixty-percent of the population didn't go to a four year college, plenty of kids getting pregnant and dropping out, one of the lowest level academic schools in the area, and you know what? I had a complete blast. You hate the social ladder mentality. But no, there actually isn't really one. I am, quite honestly, a nerd, in all senses of the word. I'm Asian, 5' 4", quiet, have glasses, play piano, played a ridiculous amount of video games, lean, but not really skinny, took calculus as a freshman and differential equations as a senior. By your account, I should have been a bottom feeder, getting run over by kids leading some hierarchy and living a depressing life on my parent's basement for four years. Except, actually, no one gave a flying fuck about who I was. No one gave two shits that I was a nerd. There's a good thing and a bad thing about that, but it's most of all, a good thing. You know why? Because then you can do whatever the hell you want and make yourself to be whoever you want to be. I along with my best friend were the first freshmen to ever take calculus as a freshman. Screams nerd. But I was nominated to homecoming court. Dated the girl's cross country captain. And took the ASB president/homecoming queen to prom. This is turning into somewhat of a brag post, but I'm trying to prove a point. Like several others before me have said, high school is what you make of it. The average high school is actually a waste of time when you talk about it academically. Most students forget what is taught to them, although they do get some sense of an introduction to what they learn in college. But I think that you learn far more about social interaction. Maybe before you go bitching about how everyone is putting you down, you become someone people can actually respect.

Heh just remembered a classic, basically first thing in the morning we had a 10 minute registration class before going off to our actual first subject of the day, this one morning we come in at 8:30 and the teacher is making us all wait outside the class while he and this other guy finish setting up this presentation with computers and projectors and shit for the first class of the day, finally he lets us into the room and he's freaking out like "no one touch any of the equipment or cables" (quite a few of them all in the same multiplug). 5 minutes later we're leaving registration to go to our first class, I trip over the main power cord and pull it out the wall, EVERYTHING dies, the other teacher guy yells out "nooooooo", I was just like "it wasn't me" and walked out of there, my friend bends down to plug it back in, Mr Dawn (our registration teacher) sees him doing this and assumes it was him, raged pretty hard at him and demanded that he come back to see him at the end of the day haha.

My highschool experience was miserable garbage. I tried to make the best out of it, I joined a lot of clubs. Ultimately I didn't fit in to a single one and I couldn't draw anything positive no matter how hard I tried. People just don't like me, or they pretend to so they can use me because I'm pathetic. The one thing I miss about highschool is at least having 30 minutes a day where I can see the 1 or 2 friends I have instead of 30 minutes a month.

You feel like you hate it now, but once you go to college, you have so much to worry about. Because GPA will matter, your extracurricular activities WILL definitely define you to employers when trying to find a job, and that's what college is pretty much is. Get your partying out of the way in your freshman year. I see quite a few slobs in their junior year that still got their head in freshman year and they realize why they can't find a freaking job that pays decent. I know I got off on a tangent but just enjoy HS while you can because you don't have all the shit to worry about when trying to tackle it alone. If you have someone to support you and guide you it won't be so bad but if you don't....Life is about to start. And also, there WILL be douches in college just like in high school. Stay busy in college (after partying in freshman year :D), and I mean the good kind of busy, get involved on campus so you don't look like you waltz through college to employers. (God I miss High School)

Then again, my high school wasn't really as clique-oriented as the stereotype seems to be. We had a very diverse range of students, and everyone managed to have common ground somewhere. Fights and conflicts were usually in their own "cliques," not amongst others. I was well-liked though, and I would hang out with the nerds/geeks mostly. Still, I don't want to go back to it. I like being more independent, and college doesn't have all the HS bullshit, from not only students but also from faculty.
