Well this fucking sucks. I was just lifting at the gym and doing Hang Cleans. This is my weak spot, so i was doing 175 lbs and pushing it a bit. After about 6 reps, as i jumped to put the weight up, there was a blinding spike of pain in my shoulder. I dropped the weight and just kind of stood there holding my shoulder for a moment. The pain went away, but any time i tried to lift after that it was really stiff and painful. About 20 minutes ago i gave up and came home. It's kind of painful to the touch and sore/stiff. Also, there appears to be a little swelling going down the side of my arm.
Any TL doctors know what's wrong with me? Will i need to go to the doctor?

No one who is serious at all is going to diagnose you with anything on the internet, especially not with so little/unprecise information at hand. I suggest you just see a orthopaedic surgeon.

Hmm does your arm seem to be sticking out at a strange angle?
And give us a rating on the pain, 1-10 without being too stoic or too weak.
I think it is a milder case of shoulder seperation (Type I or II) from what you say, but if your arm is facing an odd angle then it may be dislocation.
I hate to make you do this, but try to lift something moderately heavy (like maybe a light dictionary, etc.) with the injured arm. Is it painful or difficult to lift the object in question?
edit: any additional information on the injury would be great. Try having someone look at you bare-chested, and see if either arm sticks out more forward than the other, or is lower, etc.

trying to narrow down what it could be can save him hundreds of bucks dude.
I'd love for somebody to help me if I was in his shoes, so I'm gonna try seriously.

I had my girlfriend look and she says it looks fine but a little swollen. I've got a 45lb dumbbell here, i can lift it off of the ground with only a little twinge but i try to even begin to bend my arm (like if i were curling it) pain shoots up my arm and my shoulder hurts pretty badly. The pain at first was probably about 7 when i injured it. This is metered based on the strongest pain i've ever felt, which was getting shot in the calf with a 9mm.

If it's a dislocation or AC seperation Type IIhe's going to need treament anway (I'd recommend treament for Type I as well). So why risk making the injury worse by not doing anything about it?

ur fucked..sorry mate gg no re

From what i've read since then on the internet, it appears to be an AC seperation type I because the pain isn't really that severe compared to what a type II should be. + Show Spoiler +i had already planned on consuming a quantity of cannabis today, so i'm going to do that now with a friend. If my pain get's any worse or doesn't get better after a long time i'm going to the doctor (probably emergency room because its cheaper)

Eh, I would wait a little while before going to see a doctor. It might be nothing, but if it is something then it will continue to hurt and perhaps get worse. Unless its something really serious a doctor can't do much anyways.

In this case I believe it's better safe than sorry, because a doctor's visit now might catch a problem before more complications arise.

a kid at my school had an AC separation or maybe something else (some sort of damage). he was in quite a bit of pain, even without bearing a load. he was in a sling for a while too
dunno if this helps, i dont know how expensive it is for you to see a doctor but if it was a dislocation i think you would be in ALOT of pain (not just when bearing weight)

99% of the time a doctor will spend 10 minutes with you and say 'yep, just take it easy for a few weeks. Billing is on your way out.'

Did you go tanning and do your laundry directly after?

"Billing is on your way out." Are you actually Canadian?
I would definitely go and get it checked out if it doesn't cost you much in the US.
