I have my computer hooked up to my 46" HDTV and the picture is fine for watching things like movies or the TSL, but I cant for the life of me play starcraft or type on it. I have no idea why but when the screen gets that big it just feels messed up playing on it. For that kind of stuff i switch back over to my monitor.

Just get another 5870 so you actually use your i7 to its fullest + 1 or 2 more monitors.

These TVs weren't meant for gaming, and you're going to struggle with ghosting/delay/etc...

Yah I thought that was only with older DLP TVs and plasma TVs, modern LCD HDTVs shouldn't have this problem? Consoles games run nicely and look pretty sharp on them to me?

# Response Time 5.5 ms Not too bad of a response time, and a love playing on my 42 inch Insignia in the middle of my living room, best investment I've ever made imo. Also I've never noticed any ghosting with the insignia TV that I own

If you take a look at the competitive guitar hero etc. scenes you will find out that there is still no really good enough hdtv that manages the required speed, so I would imagine that you would notice the delay if you're playing SC too..

I'm sorry but the $250 24' screen is crap. If you want gaming TN with low RT, i recommend waiting for Acer GD245HQ, coming out in March, it will be around $450, get two, enjoy.
Also sitting in front of the 46' screen is a health hazard, the safe distance is 6-7 feet.

lol competitive guitar hero.
Anyways I think you should spend your money toward paying the bills.

You guys have all kinds of money to blow. A standard $150 XVGA is totally fine for starcraft.

What are you talking about. Any TN is fine to play bw. And pretty much all the 200+$ TN are decent / good for FPS nowadays ...

TV displays are setup differently than monitors, so if you want to have to squint a bit to read text on the screen then I would go with the monitors. Other than that videos and games would look great on it.
