fuck ohio state
I do agree about showing up on time, infact its a problem in ALL CW's -_- 30 minute late rule is dumb, how about you show up on time early so the draw can be submitted by the specified time.

Then there's players not showing up...too many players showing up and lagging games as obs and refusing to leave...blah blah blah fucking blah. Then we have the fucking reporting system...this season apparently they're going to hand out set forfeits to teams who don't hand in replays. I honestly tried to get replays last season and it just does not fucking work. That fucking kills me. UCR isn't going to be a contender for the playoffs this season, and it won't be because of our players. I'm drunk. That is epic post ^^ Beer pong is good CSL incentive IMO.. best incentive is Swig N Pass though.

![]() Last semester, I had to always run after my players and have to make harsh decision like not letting bad players play every week, but whenever I thought we would win rather easily, I'd put myself and this other guy in the cw that were guaranteed to win and I'd just add put 2 okay (D / D-/ D+) players. Worse comes to worse we'd win in the ace, but usually one of the okay players would pull through if not both of them. So ya... why you hating on mcgill ![]()

UCR isn't going to be a contender for the playoffs this season, and it won't be because of our players. I'm drunk. this is a dilemma that every coordinator goes through, and you should understand that it can be a thankless, stressful job trying to impose some order onto the lives of irresponsible immature college students, so we've experienced your problems and are quite aware of how much it can suck but here's the thing - it IS your players that'll prevent you from being a contender, because it's clear that they don't care enough about getting into playoffs to submit replays, or to show up to practice. I'd understand if it was a lower rung team (like my alma mater, who has never won) that players treat it less seriously, but if your team has the talent to win then do what it takes so you won't have retarded losses due to not submitting paperwork. if you have B-team players that want to play, schedule them far in advance and make them practice their asses off for that one match so they can get a regular lineup spot if they prove themselves. if you have people that are driven, then have them do other work for the team on top of their own practice matches. the other thing is - why bring your complaints up about other teams here in public, after they've happened? when you can talk to the CSL admins in private and let them know about the situation so we can do something in the moment? last season we gave out warnings for manner for schools that were jerks, with threat of set losses/season ban if they didn't shape up.

1) Contact the other school admin beforehand to agree on a channel: e.g. waterloo vs ryerson = channel WvsR 2) Get everyone to show 15 min before match 3) Get a non-shitty internet connection 4) ??? 5) Profit

It's not like the admins can host games either, being an admin doesn't give you some magic game-hosting ability. Also, if you really need to take a free win, an admin doesn't actually need to be there. All you need is proof that you are warranted to take a win. I.E, screenshots showing how much time has passed and that your opponent didn't show up. Just email that to your division admin and - problem solved.

What i did with organizing who plays or not was 1st season we didnt care about if we advanced to the playoffs or not (since our team wasnt too great any way) and we just tried to let everyone play an equal amount of games. last season we decided that since we had a pretty good team to let our top 2-3 players play every match and then have a small tournament for who else gets to play (most fair way to do it really). This season is pretty similar to last season.

The rule is because, what if your school has some last minute problems that take a little bit of time to resolve? 30 minutes isn't that long - most matches are 1-1.5 hrs, unless you do simultaneous matches. Add the lag time between matches that often occurs (just 'cause it does) and it can go up to 2, or even 3 hours. If you wait the 30minutes, you get the free win. If they show up at 29:59, then that's pretty rare, and also, it's only 30 minutes, which is 1-2 games. If you want them to show up "early", just set the time to meet an hour back or something? o.O. [PH] On another note... I don't think being a coordinator is all that stressful. Just pick your best players and go, tell the bad ones to shut up and get better o.O. Bad players (in terms of people who are bad at showing up), don't play them - if you play them, then you know you'll have to make that extra effort to go wake them up.. It's up to you then, to play them or not. Other coordinators are not the responsibility of CSL.. we do our best to keep everyone GM (which everyone usually is), but we don't have magical super powers to make them not lag, or make them not jerks. I have no apology for you there, hope you're joking =p.

I have no apology for you there, hope you're joking =p. I try to keep it fun, and telling bad players they can't play makes them lose interest and eventually lose contact period. At one point, we had more than twelve people all active, playing, keeping our school's iccup channel alive and all that. Then week by week as only the good players C- and above get spots, it just stops being interesting for them. BTW...Dino is our team's best player. He's a very good player, which is why I would make the effort to actually go and kick his ass awake. I dunno if you're an admin or not, but why the hell would you think it's your fault that other coordinators are douchey? And most of them are perfectly manner and chill. I just had a couple stupid experiences, was drunk, and decided to rant along with the OP. The CSL as the league xeris and hazelynut put together is perfectly fine, really...nothing I can really complain about. You don't have to apologize, it's not your fault that there are stupid people out there.
