hey guys lately ive been noticing sometimes i have these random uncontrollable facial muscle movements. They are very subtle and last less than half a second as in the few people ive asked have not noticed them. As time goes on (last 5 months) they are getting worse. I feel that after watching flash play and being so inspired to try hard in whatever i do (after reading flashes interviews etc) my brain is trying to subconsciously, slowly. copy everything he does, including his facial twitches. Is this possible? I've never encountered anything like this before..

unfortunately my skill is not increasing in a proportionate amount yet ^_^

help ?_?

oops rofl meant spasms not spams XD

They could be a product of stress or anxiety

i think almost everyone gets some sort of twitch, usually something like the eyelid

what do you mean by getting worse? are they lasting longer, occuring more frequently, becoming painful?

If it's eyelid twitches then it happens to me and people I know when they are sleep deprived and have been staring at one spot for too long.

it happens to me too, im pretty sure everyone gets them

just make sure you are sleeping well, eating well and exercising well and give it a month. if you are worried about it after the month, you can go to the doc's and get it checked but i dont think there's anything to be worried about

yeah its actually all over, sometimes eyelid area sometimes jaw area. But yeah I actually take pretty good care about my body, exercising 4 times a week, keeping a healthy diet, cleanse and moisturizing my skin, the occasional massage, and 8 hours of sleep a day. Theyve been getting more frequent but I think I'll just not worry about it for now, thanks for the responses. And Ill try taking more breaks from staring at the computer screen (sometimes when i close my eyes I see a white square where my screen is)

Maybe it has to do with the fact that you have played 1675 games on iccup this season.

http://www.iccup.com/gamingprofile/F.A.O.D.[a51].html

thats just freakin insane lol. You weren't kidding when you said you are inspired to try hard in whatever you do.

This happens to me a lot.
I don't get much sleep.
But I get spasms in MANY muscles. Legs, arms, face, back, chest. It can get really annoying.

Go for 2k for the season imo!

Whats the record on most games played in one season? And is that a shared account or something?

Pretty sure that's what Flash has. Remember Tasteless making a joke about his spasms on GOM, then SDM came and went "He really does have Tourettes". I had similar spasms when I went to the doctor as a kid, and they told me the tic disorder is a variation of Tourettes. Looking at the Wiki page, it's more that Tourettes is a tic disorder, in an audible sense, whereas both Flash and I have body jerks/movements.

I have the same thing lol, it's either tics or tourettes (I have mild tourettes). No big deal as along as tics don't disturb him. If you have motor tics only you basically just have tics, motor + vocal (coughing, sniffing what have you) = tourettes.

Flash definately has tics, tourettes or not I dunno. Difference between tics and spasms is that tics are something you do consciously alot of the time but cannot stop doing because there is a incredibly strong urge to tense a certain muscle or do a sound. You can hold it back for a while like when playing SC (I can and apparently Flash does it too) or doing anything else that requires mental quickness and concentration, but after a while that pent up energy needs to find an release and you tic alot.

There are surgeons that have tourettes and function just fine while working. Spasms, like the eyelid thing is involuntary and just happens, mainly because you're low on magnesium due to for example high intake of caffeine (which drives out magnesium out of the body). Many teenage boys have transient tics too, as many as 15-20% but they vanish after weeks or months.

Oh and yeah manitou, magnesium/taurine helps with tics and minor seizures in general

from mcvitamins.com:

If you drink coffee, you may be a special candidate for magnesium deficiency

from wikipedia:

Spices, nuts, cereals, coffee, cocoa, tea, and vegetables are rich sources of magnesium

lolol

One cup of coffee provides you with about 7 mg of Magnesium, and considering the RDI for Magnesium is 350-400 in USA, it's not a big amount lol. Also caffeine draws magnesium from your body, so it's really not a good option to make your daily intake higher. Raw coffee has a large amount of magnesium, but who eats 100 grams of coffee each day?

Good choices are nuts, quinoa, oatmeat and vegetables etc.
