Sounds like you can't think of anything to say. You should just like drop a pen beside her or ask her something regarding your courses, get her to know your face/presence. Just cuz you are interested in a girl and want to say hi, it doesn't mean there should be any pressure and you don't need to get her number right away on the first time or even know her name/introduce yourself. Some girls I have met I didn't even know their name until like after a month of talking...seriously.

If she has a boyfriend I'll be so crushed. I doubt it though... she seems just as shy and introverted as me. I doubt she'd have a boyfriend by the sheer amount of time she is in the math lab studying. I'll be crushed if she does.
Don't be so sure about her not having a bf. If she does, don't be discouraged. Just because the goalie is blocking the goal doesn't mean you can't score right?

dude I think you are the one intimidating yourself. Why don't you just be casual about it and don't even ask her out right away? Why don't you just do what I recommended in my last post, then there will be no pressure and you will have a very good chance of not fucking up and will be more likely to even approach.
You're anxious because you are making it such a big deal when it doesn't have to be. Not to mention asking out a random girl whom you have never met puts a lot of pressure on her as well.

There is no chance for the slow process such as you suggested. After tomorrow, we have a two week "reading break" (Uni closes to students so they can make money off people using the parking lot fo the olympics) and I won't see her for quite some time. On a longer time line, my chances with her decrease. Therefore, I must try to get a number or something tomorrow.
Yes I am @ ubc I know about the break coming up. You can't see her after the break? It's not like you initiated a convo or started anything yet.
i've know people like this in real life as well and situations like these never end well for them.
they obsess over someone they have never or barely met and when they finally work up the courage to say "hi", it becomes a very awkward situation.
if you're gonna "do it", don't hesitate and hover around her. just be spontaneous. sit down at a computer next to her and while your loggin in or whatever toss a "what you up to?" while you wait.
although im not sure what environment you'll be in but the point is you shouldn't plan this shit out.
if you stress about it like this it will end up damaging your self-esteem more than it already is.
