Okay random question, so say you like this girl and you go out to dinner with her and one other guy friend, as like a group of friends. You get to a booth and the girl you like sits on one side, for example on the left, your guy friend sits on the right.
So...
Poll: Where do you sit (Vote): Next to the girl (Vote): Next to the guy
Next question, suppose you recently told this girl that you like her but got rejected but are still friends, again you go the restaurant (suppose you still like her, but are trying to get over her)
So...
Poll: Where do you sit? (Vote): Next to the girl (Vote): Next to the guy
Okay completely new situation, there is a very unnattractive girl who has a crush on you, but now there are 2 dude friends and the unnattractive girl, the guys both sit on one side and the girl sits on the other, supposing the booth has enough room...
Poll: Where do you sit? (Vote): Next to the girl (Vote): Next to the guys
I am just curious how people approach these situations and whether or not they make conscious decisions about this or just give it 2 seconds of thought and just randomly take a seat.
edit: this is the first time I used polls on a forum, and I set it up wrong, but I think I fixed it..
I laughed while i was reading this since it doesn't really matter. The reason is simply that if I like this girl I'll make my presence be known. And to reconsider your sitting position is kind of ridiculous cause it's frivolous to ponder whether your chances will be better.
in psych supposedly you are more likely to agree with/have similar opinions as whoever you sit beside. but it's not a big difference, just sit wherever you want (why the hell would you pack 3 guys all in one side, pretty gay)
a) obv net to her b) obv next to her, other women might think she's into you and are therefor easier to approach c) obv next to her, cause other women might see you have balls where the other guys don't.
Sit next to the girl that rejected you (in table or parallel booth situations) because that will get you in the better position to ignore her and gain back some of the ground that you lost when she rejected you.
In the first situation, if you can out game the dude then you should sit next to him, however if you can't you should sit next to her or go third wheel of the table and play a side pot on that shit.

i prefer sitting making eye contact in a one on one situation. In a group situation, i always seem to talk to the person beside me more than the one across from me
First situation depends on her body language. If you walk up and she makes room like she wants you to sit next to her then do so for sure. If she sees you walk up doesn't make room sit with your friend. Taking notice of and acting accordingly to little body language hints are a big deal to a most women.
Second situation, like cgrinker says, sit next to her so you can more easily ignore her.
Third... sit with the girl. Unless you like having your thigh pressed up against another guy's and want all the world to know.
The 2nd one is quite difficult to answer really... I agree that if you sit next to the girl - across from the guy, it will be easier to ignore her and likewise if you sit next to the guy, it will be easier for them to ignore you... But, sitting next to the girl can be a bit awkward since you just got rejected and all... so I would settle with sitting next to the girl but pretending that you have no interest in her.

lol sorta agree. I didn't vote.
But seriously, I would probably take a second to think about it, but it really doesn't matter unless you're trying to kino her or something. Also it's probably best to sit across from her because that way you can read all the non verbal communication better and you don't have to awkwardly turn to each other at such a close proximity (how big are these booths? from my experience not very big)
For last one, if im friends with girl, where i sit doesnt really matter. If i don't know her barely at all tho im sure as hell not sitting next to her when i know she has a crush on me and i dont feel the same, that'd shit'd be awkwaaared.
Some girls actually like it better when guys sit across from them. Interesting poll though. For the last one it would just look way too weird with 3 people in one side and 1person on the other.
The chances I'd ever go out with just one guy and one girl are slim. If I'm going out in that small of a group there's atleast gonna be a 1:1 ratio (double dates are where its at).
