So I want to figure out my grade so I know how my future PP grade might influence my total grade.
Does anyone have any knowledge with Excel? I remember taking a class on Microsoft Office 2 years ago, but we didn't really touch on Excel and I can't really remember anything.
My geology grade consists of
Four Midterm Exams 36% Final Exam 20% Laboratory Reports 20% PP Presentation 14% Quizzes 10%
Edit: Would you need anymore information, like total points?
If anyone would take the time to write it really quick, and maybe post it/e-mail it. I would really appreciate it.

your grade sums up to 106? o_O..

Oh man my mistake. PP presentation is only worth 14 percent.

ok but i still don't see how you need excel for this the pp is worth 14% of your grade.. so if you get 0, you lose 14%. if you get perfect you lose 0%. if you get like 85% you lose 2.1% etc..

If you put your grade averages for each category in the 'A' column (say Midterm=A1, Final=A2, etc), then you can just make an arithemtic equation in another cell to take the weighted average to calculate final grade.
So in the weighted average cell you would enter the equation: = A1 * .36 + A2 * 0.2 + A3 * 0.2 + A4 * 0.14 +A5 * 0.10
Then that cell will calculate the weighted average of whatever you put in the previous cells.
Edit: and yeah, you really don't need excel for this lol. You can do what JeeJee said

Well, in case if you were still too lazy to calculate your grade yourself, I decided to get a teenie bit of practice with excel~
Here's a quicky, I think it should work out fine. I assumed that all the midterm grades were weighted equally; I also didn't know how many quizzes/labs you had, so you can enter up to 20 . Just fill out everything in yellow(if a quiz/lab didn't happen just leave it blank).

I downloaded this and tried opening with Excel 2003, but it wouldn't work.

That's really awesome. Now I feel really stupid that I didn't know how to do this =/ Most people forget right?...

Could you not just do it with a calculator? Excel seems a little overkill.

lol this is like highschool algebra?
i'm always shocked at teachers in college explaining how you "figure out your grades"
