Yeah I totally remembered that guide, and I plan to fully utilize it (thanks BTW <3)when I get a kitchen (hopefully) next year. For the rest of this semester and the next, though, I'm outta luck =[]

When I last checked, the words "cheap" and "sashami" never appear next to each other in real life. Would be completely awesome though.

I've been here for ages and I've yet to see a place that offers sashimi for what can be considered a cheap price. If you don't mind a buffet, try Todai, haven't been there for a few years personally, but from friends' experiences it seems like the quality and price is still good. For proper restaurants though, I'd like to find some places myself -.-
Though shifting from wanting sashimi to settling for ramen and set menus has drastically improved the quality of food overall for me.

Oh there's a Todai here? Yeah I guess that'd make sense, I guess I'll try Todai sometimes, when the cravings get too strong.
And yes, ramen FTW :<

Depends on where in NYC.... if you mean Manhattan, in the city, then it'll be slightly harder to find a very cheap place unlike those in Brooklyn.... I just know a couple of places in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn I can recommend but.... I doubt you will be willing to go there... o.O
And, a lot of Korean restaurants in NYC also have sushi and sashimi..... so it's a win-win double plus imo... :D

Its worse: he wants cheap+sashimi+NYC.
That said, you may want to try Yuka (81st and 2nd). I think it was 20.99 for all you can eat. A la carte was not bad either, and the sushi was quite solid.

Hmm apparently Todai closed to be replaced by another buffet that's basically the same. About 20 dollars for lunch...Ah so expensive, but I guess I'll go check it out sometimes when I'm really craving it I guess :<

practically all the all-you-can eat deals are sushi not sashimi, and have no leftovers rules
not that it's hard to take a little bag and throw the rice into it...

Uhh getting cheap sashimi here? I dont recommend it.
|
If you were in Chicago I'd be able to recommend cheap + good sashimi =(.

Todai serves sashimi? Buffet and sashimi doesnt seem to go together. Although not the biggest fan of sushi or raw fish ,the only places I tried are at Saint Marks(Wow late night, waited for an hour just to get a table) or in Uptown Manhattan.

Where in St. Mark's/how much?

I agree that buffets and sashimi don't go together. The buffets stuff as much rice into their sushi as possible to fill you up. They don't want to give customers tons of sashimi when they can give them rice or some fancy sushi with very little actual fish in it.
