That was kind of dramatic for my first car accident. Was riding home with my brother and his girlfriend for Thanksgiving on Tuesday. Along the way we hear this rattling and stop at a rest stop to see what it is. The best I could tell it looked like some paneling between the bumper and tire came lose and it was vibrating against the bumper. About an hour later we are on the turnpike in the left lane (2 lane road) and the car starts making this extremely loud noise like a jackhammer but more metalic (turns out a tire blew out). Kind of like if you put a piece of sheet metal in between gears that start grinding on it (saw this in some movie). Two seconds later we are veering off the road sideways at full speed knowing that we're not going to stop until we hit something. Fortunately there was very nice brush instead of trees or guardrail to stop us. We hit it and rolled a couple times and landed upside down.
After stopping I immediately unbuckle my seatbelt, completely forgetting about gravity and land on my head. I crawl to the backseat to help my brother's girlfriend, who is freaking out, get out of her seatbelt. I try to open the door but the brush is wrapped around the car keeping the door pinned in. My brother calls 911 and we chill for a couple minutes until a passerby who stopped opens the driver's door and we all crawl out. None of us had a scratch on us.
The first guy that stopped was actually in front of us and saw it through his rearview mirror and said everyone behind us just kept on driving. wtf is wrong with people.. He also took some pictures that he emailed me

Wow, that looks so crazy from the pictures, great that you're all fine though.
wow, quite a story to tell glad you and everyone else is fine
Daang lucky nobody got hurt. I guess this is why everyone should be forced to take some kind of auto class in highschool, might've been able to notice the impending problem when you first checked it out.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Dude, those pictures are crazy. You're so lucky right now, your car flipped over and there's not a scratch on you. Thank god you guys are ok.

So does insurance pay out in this case? Will you be getting a new car? What kind?

If I had driven past afterwords and seen that, I would've expected worse.
Something to be thankful for, no?

Wow... I tip my car to you sir!

Welcome to the club of people who got to unbuckle their seatbelt upside down :D
good thing you wore your seatbelt dude

Good thing you're safe. That is so scary, to think how quickly life could end doing a mundane everyday activity :o
Always buckle up!

Car is totaled so they will probably pay the value of the car. Probably going to take my mom's new car for now.

The really fortunate part is that 500 ft further down the road and we would have smacked into guard rail and probably bounced back into traffic instead of landing in brush.

and not a scratch? that's pretty sick glad nobody got hurt.. the pictures really contradict that LOOKs pretty serious
Holy crap, amazing, after seeing the pictures, that nobody was hurt.
Guess you definitely have something to be thankful for.
Everybody else kept driving? Are you fucking kidddinngg meeeeeeeee. Jesus humanity scares me sometimes. Glad to hear you are safe.
Glad to hear you and the other 2 people are safe and sound. It's a good thing you didn't hit anyone else as well or things could have been more worse. But seriously, people that drove by and didn't bother to stop to help you guys are just bunch of asshole with no shred of humanity in them. Those pictures are some high quality ones, lol the guy who took those picture must be carrying a camera or something; never seen a mobile phone camera shoot that well....
Holy crap, it's amazing that you guys got through all that without any harm. I bet it must even feel pretty awesome in a way. Sounds like it will definitely make for a great story at the Thanksgiving dinner table.
Crazy story, glad everyone came out ok! I have nothing new to add T_T
Perhaps they fear to stop and help because accident driver/passengers might have guns or they might stab too. Never know if some crazy guy or criminal driving :D
and thats why they make seatbelts, glad your guys used yours
This is like one of my dreams in life. Walk away without a scratch after a car flip. Just to know what it feels like.
Holy shit, good thing no one was hurt. Note to self: stop driving when freaky sounds occur.
wow shits scary! good thing everyone had their seat belt on! o_o
mm wait, you knew something was wrong with the car and yet you drove? hopefully you learnt something about this. if not' then i hope you won't survive without hurting.

Wow, you are very fortunate to have everyone come out of that unharmed.
And, I agree. People are dicks for just driving past something like that. They probably said something along the lines of, "Oh someone else will call 911, I guess I can keep going durrpp durrpppp de durppp."
I'm happy for your good luck man...wow that sounds insane..
I'm glad you're ok, getting out of that without a scratch is amazing.
But I can't help but notice you drove for an hour after hearing weird clanking sounds from your car. This is probably less adviseable than just pulling over to see what's wrong.
Damn bro, you are lucky. Next time you hear any sort of funky sounds coming from the car you'll do what I do and pull over. I pull over for even the tiniest off-sound, once I checked my whole tire for a pebble that was making a clicking sound against the pavement to make sure it wasn't a nail. Safety first!

So is that why you posted a picture in your blog of you driving 115 miles per hour?

Holy crap! It's a good thing you didn't swerve into oncoming traffic or anything. I'd be traumatized if that happened to me. Luckily everyone was okay.
