Annoying Windows problem

mdb Bulgaria4059 Posts November 20 2009 07:59 GMT #1 Hi, I have Windows XP pro SP2 and have problem with quick launch. Quick launch doesnt start automaticly with windows after restart. And after I activate it manually it puts the icons randomly. I rearange them and after I restart it it does the same thing again. I noticed that when I create new account in Windows I dont have this problem. I looked up for solution in google, but didnt find any solution. Can someone from the tl.net computer gurus help me with this. Thanks in advance!

ghermination United States2851 Posts November 20 2009 08:08 GMT #2 This is pretty simple, but do you have auto-arrange icons on? That tends to fuck with stuff. Also, I had this same problem when i had SP2, but upgrading to SP3 fixed it for me (a couple years ago, of course) so maybe you should try that. XP will run faster, and all that jazz.

meeple Canada10211 Posts November 20 2009 08:11 GMT #3 Just to clarify, are you talking about the icons that appear when you hit the start menu, or the icons that are beside the start menu. I've heard both referred to as 'quick launch"

meeple Canada10211 Posts November 20 2009 08:17 GMT #6 I would be inclined to agree with ghermination about simply upgrading. More often than not little buggy things are fixed in the service packs. Unless there's a specific reason not to update, try that first and see if it helps.
