Recently I've been having sudden burst of falling like dreams. Although these don't occur when under REM sleep, their devastatingly annoying to deal with. Just yesterday I had one of these hypnic jerks which knocked the wind out of me, and almost made me fall out of bed. Everyone is prone to hypnic jerks so as I am writing this with a beaming smirk the sheer satisfaction of knowing that you will one day experience these too is a godsend. I also remember reading about this in psychology class as the teacher was explaining all sorts of sleep problems.
Which brings me to another experience I had but was freaking amazing. I forgot the term they used to describe this but when you're asleep there are times when you sense are heighten. And it feels like it's unreal the things you are witnessing. I don't believe it's categorized under lucid dreams but feels like you are in a different world.

I hate those dreams, I have been having them lately too. The building i work in is the second largest in Cleveland and my dreams involve me being on the edge of it and hanging on to the side, also hanging out of the window. The best dreams are the ones where you feel like you are flying.

Used to get those when I feel asleep in class. Embarassing to jerk awake in a lecture hall full of 400 people :|

Done that.
Although it's also pretty bad when you jerk awake and there's someone who is a light sleeper next to you...

Do you mean sleep paralysis?
I hate when I dream that I'm falling and wake up in a semi-sleep state thinking I'm going insane lol. In the morning I hardly remember it

How about under water dreams? Why is it, that you can breathe underwater when ur dreaming???

I have the twitches all the time, it's pretty cool, although it does suck in the middle of the class, especially if your head is leaning on your arm, and your elbow is on a thing ledge... and then you jerk and your head is like in free fall while you wake up...
I also died in a dream once. like really died. People sometimes say that it can't happen and that if you die in a dream you die in real life but, nope I died in the dream, and it was pretty awkward =(.

People are dumb.
I've died in my sleep plenty of times, in fact, I've never had a dream where I win anything, or survive. I always die, or always lose in my dreams.

lmao this is true.
I think I've been having dreams lately where the scenarios are a bit more favorable for me but I can't remember any of these dreams at all...
but like... usually when you die in your dream you wake up right after, or you just skip to some next sequence or w.e
But this time like my brain really thought that the dream me was the real me....
I was falling, and i was like FUCK... i did some estimations, no way im gonna survive this, last thoughts: "well at least this will be relatively fast." I land... PAIN vision is blurry and then blacks out...
I feel HUGE amounts of adrenaline pour into my bloodstream... my brain is like "FUUUUCK I'm dead... ... O wait."

i once had a dream where i was holding my brain, and it was like a crackling ball of electricity. Half of me knew it was impossible, the other half was terrified to hit the off switch... pretty freaky really
