Notes:

I've realized recently that I'm spending way too much time online and things that happen in the online world are affecting my confidence and daily life way more than they should be able to.

Therefore I want to compile a list of things to do over the Winter period that involve the following;

~ Getting away from the computer.
~ Not costing vast amounts of money.
~ Something one can do alone and/or with others. (LOL.)
~ Are Seoul specific in certain cases.

Current List of Ideas:

~ Reading books.
~ Watching dramas and movies.
~ Studying (languages, etc.)
~ Going for walks.
~ Setting photography challenges to myself.
~ Cookery.
~ Sewing.
~ Learning a new skill of some kind.
~ Writing letters.
~ Working on eSports projects.
~ Making jewelry.

Added:

~ Learn to cook Korean (or foreign) foods.
~ Play video games.
~ Make snow men.

Any more ideas? Winter-specific things are definitely an option by now. (It's absolutely freezing here!) Also ideas for that skill are also welcome.

[Edit]

I forgot to mention - recommendations for the following are also gratefully accepted;

~ Books/Movies/Dramas and other things to watch/play/read.
~ Cookery sites/recipies.
~ Crafts.
~ eSports projects.
~ Places to go in Seoul.

Skating as well as skiing/snowboarding are really fun if you get enough snow up there.

with the amount of snow in the picture im surprised you left out 3 essential winter activities:
1) SNOWBALL FIGHTING. cmon. that's the best thing to do with friends in the winter. No rocks.
2) Find a hill, bring a trash can lid, and go sledding. Watch out for trees/people/cars on the bottom.
3) Make a snowman. Props if you can make one of Marge Simpson.

Of course, that depends on whether Korea gets a lot of snow or not, but I'm just assuming from the picture that there is. Have fun.

Best of all, they're free.

I definitely vote cooking. especially during the cold seasons, learning how to do easy stews, chowders and soups is incredibly relaxing and rewarding.

you can do it alone or have friends over while you finish up the dish. cooking > all (exluding sc)

I agree with this, becoming good at cooking leads to entertaining friends and family which is a great way to relax and unwind away from the computer and internet. I also endorse walking, reading and writing letters from your original list.

Take street-style photos of Seoul in winter, but here's the challenge: try to focus on wide and mid-angle shots instead of the narrow ones you usually do (since your main lenses seem to both be 70-200mm haha).

I've never seen winter street photography of modern day Seoul, so a big picture post of that would be awesome. (:

Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami

I think this book will pair quite well with wintertime and adjusting your focus. I highly recommend it.

Also, pictures of Seoul in winter would be amazing. I don't know you at all nevergg I just watched that nal_ra interview which was fantastic, but... if it's your thing at all, what if you did a mini-project over winter? Try to document winter in Seoul as though for the outsider / noob, someone who doesn't know anything about Korea, it's geography, it's culture, it's customs, where it's been and where it's going. What does it mean to be in Seoul versus other places in Korea? What does it mean to be there in the winter? What are the "spots", for visitors, for locals, the main streets everyone uses but never thinks of as a place. Maybe this would require library or book research. And then you could take pictures that capture what you needed to convey to supplement words, or just pictures! That's my idea, and I would love to see even a 1% sampler attempt at something like this. :D

swimming, it feels damn great in winter when you swim in a warm water pool.

On a side note, I heard that in Korea, arranging flower is a very useful skill toi have for girls and there are actually training courses on this in some places in Seoul. Might be of your interest

The Singularity by Ray Kurzweil.

- easy to joke about, but it's cool stuff to read.

I'd probably recommend learning to cook the most though, it's rewarding on so many levels. And it's not like you'll ever say, "Oh, I wish I hadn't spent all that time learning to cook and enjoy eating."
