So about two months ago, I did too much exercise during a weekend, and my legs got totally worn out. My friends told me it was Periostitis (?). They told me I needed to take it easy and it should become better by itself. But somehow it didnt get that much better, just abit. A month passed, it was abit better, after a walk it suddently came back really bad, and now it feels like its getting worse. It doesnt hurt like really bad, but its bad. I feel my legs are so cold and they hurt if I walk to much, or stand for a long time. And I can feel the legs arent normal at all. I really dont know what to do. I've been to a doctor, he gave me some meds (Voltaren) and I got sent to a physiotherapist who has been doing some stuff to my legs every week for the last 3 weeks. But still doesnt seem to get any better. I feel I'm wasting my money on him, he also told me not to take the meds the doctor gave me (which I agree, since I'm no big fan of meds in general, I believe they can do more harm than good, and in this case, the meds arent THAT important. I feel like doctors give away meds to get rid of me. I've been doing very little the past months, trying to keep blood circulation in my legs a little by moving them when I can and remember. Anyone got similar experience? I miss playing soccer and do other activites.

This is probably something you should be taking about with your doctor... the people of TL are knowledgeable, but most don't have medical degrees.

I had 8 tendons in my left arm severed when i got stepped on by a skate. That, to say the least, sucked.

Some might have, but I'm mostly curious if people have experience with it, since it is quite common within different kinds of sports.

My legs used to 'hurt' all the time when I worked as an electrician, went to school in the evening and jogged 5times a week. Cycling to my work 2x 15-20min. Standing/walking/climbing 9-10hours 5days a week for my work, then cycling 2x 40-45min. to school. Jogging 1hour intensively before going to bed.
Whenever I went to bed it would take me 30min-1hour to be able to sleep cause my legs were so 'hurting'.
I also only slept for like 5hours a night. (I did that for 2years straight).

Now I quit my job got back in school, sleep 7-8hours a day and my legs don't hurt anymore at all.

I'm not a professional but... I think I know the feeling and I believe you just need to give your legs plenty of rest... When I quit my work I still felt my legs for at least 3more months, though they weren't ever feeling cold...
They just ached a lot. mainly the shins.

I think if you give your legs enough rest it will go away eventually (mental stress can possibly be an additional facctor here as well, since it eats up your energy/ability to recover)
I think the meds won't do you any good either.
Again, I'm not an expert. I hope they recover and turn back to normal soon.

First of all, you shouldnt think that low of modern medicine:-p
On the other hand, Voltaren products (aka Diclofenac) are only painkillers and anti-inflammatory stuff, so its not going to solve the source of the problem. Also, If you are so conscious about the possibility of the doctor just trying to get rid of you, you should also note how the physiotherapist has a similarly vague reason to keep you around, as you pay him based on attending, not the actual result. So if you dont start getting better at all, I suggest you see an other doctor for a second opinion, if possible.

(I dont have any experience with the actual problem.)

So where exactly is your pain?
What movements or joint articulations hurt?
How much exercise did you do exactly?

Pictures (googled pics marked work) are highly preferable.

This is a nutritional deficiency. You're not supplying your body with the proper nutrition to allow it to recover. Rid yourself of all greasy denatured foods and eat raw food. You won't need as much which will allow your body to spend its energy in recovery and building instead of digesting who knows what all the time.
Human teleportation, molecular decimation, breakdown and reformation is inherently purging. It makes a man acute.

I'm eating very little unhealthy food. I eat alot of raw vegetables and other healthy fish and stuff. Tho I guess I could be better. any suggestions?

I pretty much did like 3 hours intensive exercices (soccer) during a weekend 3 days in a row. The last day i felt very bad in my legs, I still keept going. And the days after I couldnt even kick a ball or run. So I just had to give up. I usually dont excerices this much at all, since I'm used to sit on my comp most of the time. Trying to change this, and I love sports, I tried, but ended up with this

This is a possibility, the OP should focus on nutrients for recovery and maybe adjust your diet.

Have you asked/searched for what marathon runners or bikers do to fight off this?

This is pretty common stuff as it's relative to your lifestyle. If your body isn't use to doing some higher level of exercise (even over a period of time), it's going to hurt. I had this happen to me earlier this past summer when I started playing basketball and jogging again, my legs would hurt after 2 weeks and the pain would eventually go away after I took a break and rubbed down my legs after exercise. But what you describe doesn't sound typical, because unless you are severely out of shape, the pain goes away after a few weeks max. Maybe ask for the Doctor to take a look with something, like a scan?

I'm not entirely foreign to work related pain, and i always find that taking a day or two off and just "putting your feet up" can help immensely.

Leg pain is more often related to your lower back than your actual legs.

Human legs are very durable... but strangely, the design of our hips and lower back suck. Intelligent Design, debunked!

I take it you got semi-pro at WC3 during the wait?

Also, I'm lucky to never've broken or snapped or ruptured anything o.o
seriously next disrespectful comment in this blog is ip ban. Be happy or get the hell out. // SC2 is like playing with neutral-colored Play-Doh while BW is like colorful Legos.

Go see a professional. In the meantime, it really helps to keep good circulation in your legs so the condition doesn't worsen.

Okay, unfortunately, you did not answer my questions.

My best guess based on your exertional status is chronic exertional compartmental syndrome.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/chronic-exertional-compartment-syndrome/DS00789

It usually occurs in the legs, and occurs with a lot of exercise. So... that's all I got. May not actually be chronic but based on your post if it's lasting a long time then it's probably chronic.

Shrug.

Try reading his whole post first rather than just the first two lines. He said he went to the doctor. Anyway, I would just do some icing and then try to take it easy and eventually get into light exercise.
Why would you ever choose failure, when success is an option.
