Hello TeamLiquid,
After thinking of a good idea for a novel, I'm planning to create the plotline over the next few weeks. I am hoping it will be done within 1-1.5 years time from now.
What I would like however, unusual as it may seem, is the cover artwork. Front and back. This is where your skills with photoshop come in.
The theme is, 'Atlantis.' I don't want to give away anything from the story, from the rough idea I have of it.
So if you have some spare time, and aren't half bad with graphics, then give it a shot. If you want to communicate more easily, then pm me, and I'll add you to msn/skype.
You might say, 'why need a cover if you don't even have even written the majority of it, or you don't even have a publisher?' I don't really have an answer for it, as I just want to see what it would look like.

Underwater ruins are nice to look at, especially after googling/deviantarting a few images, but the covers don't necessarily need them.

good luck with your novel! not to be a wet blanket or anything, but shouldn't you only start thinking of cover artwork when the novel is nearing completion?

This is the most ridiculous request.
You haven't started a book, yet you want someone to spend many hours working on a piece of artwork that in all likeliness will never be used so you can "see what it would look like."
Do you not understand how long a piece of artwork made from scratch can take?
What you're asking for is a joke

alright, at least i tried ^^
but just by the way. your op doesn't say anything about the theme. it could be the space shuttle, the sunken city or a novel based on stargate atlantis. by saying the theme is 'atlantis' you basically say nothing at all.

atlantis in the most plato sense of the word.
and orb, that is why I said if you have spare time. I'm not asking for someone to commision their work, and work for hours on end on this. besides, if the novel does turn out okay, and I do use the cover work, then they would get full credit

Some people take pleasure simply in being involved in projects. Ive had to record vocals ive never ever used, but that doesnt mean i regret the experience of doing it, and i dont think the singers regret having done it either.
I would make a picture simply because i think it is fun, though im busy in too many other projects at the minute (and im probably not good enough compared to TL art talent). Would it be used as a book cover too, great.

Wouldnt've put it better. I thought it was a serious request for a book almost about to be released. If that was the case, I would have certainly be interested. With no background of any plot line, the art generated would be so random :/

If I had average photoshopping skills that could use practice and improvement, I'd totally do it just for the teeth.

Since no one else has bothered with a serious reply I thought I would give it a shot. This should just be considered a rough concept design and is pretty generic since no specific details were provided. Anyway, I hope this helps you in some way...
