That's down right lunacy ~!
Get over it, don't give a fuck. Don't do anything? Also don't fail the class, but you shouldn't need a 13 year old to motivate you to pass your college courses, right?

Who gives a balls if the kid is smart. So he'll get a job 5 years sooner than the average person? Who the fuck cares. I would rather enjoy my childhood instead of worrying about passing a college class.
Child geniuses like never do anything that great anyways. Just because they're smart as a kid does not mean they're some sort of amazing person later in life.
Congrats to the kid for wanting to go to college but damn, I sure as hell wouldn't want to do that at 13. Boy are you smart, you think he is going to last as much working like an ass as you? He did his HS in like a third of the time as you did. And he is smart for choosing to have the hardest part of his life (college and work) when he is best able to face it, aka. while he is still young. Dont come with shit like "they never do anything special anyway" if you are such an ignorant asshole. O.o. I don't know how you took my post to be ignorant. Just because we view it differently doesnt mean I'm ignorant. I personally think that going to college at 13 is a terrible idea. You completely miss out on your childhood and all the badass things you get to do as a kid. I'm sure he has friends his own age but he doesn't really get to go to class with them at all. All the articles I've read before about kids graduating college early really don't go on to do anything 'that special'. All I was saying was just because you are smart at a young age does not mean you are more intelligent at an older age.
Well and i was here thinking that getting a phd at 24 and then following it by getting a Nobel, was something rather special.
And to the OP, maybe you could learn something from the kid? Like, he doesnt seem to be such a bad project or study partner?

I know a kid who did this, straight out of junior high he enrolled in community college, stayed their for two years, got his high school equivilent and went off to college two years early and with a crap load of credits. If my kid has any kind of academic aptitude he/she is gonna do the same thing

I think it's interesting that a 13 y/o is in your uni class but it shouldn't really affect you at all. If you do fail and he passes i dont even see the big deal because he's obviously some kind of prodigy and studies alot ^^

Ask him for 1v1 in SC and see if hes smart or just a bookworm. If he doesn't play SC, hes not smart

Don't be too competitive, and aim for a goal that you can reach. Don't let the kid make you feel stupid, even if he does better than you. I also agree that going to college that early is a terrible idea. Being from a typical Asian family, i basically got pushed to skip grades and start college early. Once I got into college, I realized that I never got to enjoy my childhood, so I took a year off to get a job...and play Starcraft.
I had sorta the opposite experience. I always felt really bored in school, and wanted to skip some grades. But my parents (who are white) were like "don't stress yourself too much, we want you to enjoy your childhood". So I was just really lazy as a kid.
