I don't know if we've discussed this but, in your opinion, what's the most touching SC unit to YOU? It doesn't have to be because of its stats or anything, just because of it's presence, voice, looks, experiences, etc.
To me, it's always been the marine.
Probably because that's the sound I grew most fond of when I was little (~7 years old) and I was starting to play the game; I knew nothing, I didn't know you could build, or get new units, hell I didn't even know what the game was about. I just knew that I started on this level with a couple little soldiers and two little robots who liked grabbing this blue thing.
I liked exploring the map and killing these weird creatures that for some reason kept on picking off my little soldiers with no problem. They were really fast and had a cool looking face. I WANTED TO PLAY THEM! (I somehow knew you could, but not how, so I kept on trying to pass the missions) And I grew fond of the organic aliens that I always esteemed as mighty, mysterious, and powerful.
So all I heard during this time was the familiar "gogogo", "standing by", "lock and load", "checked up and good to go", "we gotta move", "are you gonna get me orders?", "oh my god it's wet", "a... [couldn't catch this] ...friend is commander", "and i don't know how to get out of this... [couldn't catch this either] ...outfit", "you wanna piece of me boy?", "in a world for this damn... [couldn't catch this >.<] ... career by now".
I grew fond of the little guy that liked trash talking me honestly, and everytime I saw one (specially in the installation levels) I just wanted him to walk with me and do something together, and when I saw the dead-marine scenery you always see there, my heart felt sad for him.
I bet this sounds gay but it's the truth haha, I know SC has touched you somehow not because of the gameplay, or friends you've made, or any sort of shit like that, but just because of it's pure being or simplicity.

Wraith for me. I like how fragile wraiths are and also how they are able to deal massive amounts of damage at times. They are a better version of corsairs =)

Zealots hands down.
The way they move, their voice, their psy blades everything is awesome.
Also they have the most epic death animation.

Archon for me. Overwhelming power produced by psi magic that just makes itself seem like a demi-God. Destroying everything in its path, and does major damage.
Would have been nice to increase the damage / health / range of Archons for a more expensive price/supply to really give it an awe feeling

My favorites are a tie between the goliath and the dragoon.
I love everything about the goliath, the way they shoot, the way they attack air, how they walk and how they look. I hate fighting carriers, but I love the excuse to make a billion goliaths to fight them off.
The dragoon is great also, I love the shape of them, how they're the staple unit of my favorite match-up (PvT) and the damage and durability of them.

I love most units, it's so hard to choose. Every unit have something that is so amazing about it. Especially the basic units like zerglings, hydras, marines, medics, zealots and so on.
But if I have to choose my absolute favorite it have to be the archon.

I used to think the dragoon was cool because it moved in a funny way and its speech was gibberish.

Vulture is definitely my favorite. I remember I used to think they were the most useless pieces of crap, until I saw my workers get raped in a matter of seconds to a group of them (and I started BMing hard since I was like 10 years old, not proud of that).
And then I started using them in every match, learned to patrol micro with them, it was so much fun :3
All the voices in SC are pretty memorable for me, but the Vulture still stands out the most

up until recently I've been very fond of the dragoon mainly because as a kid it was my favorite unit (it's pretty much a walking alien tank that shoots these weird plasma things, how could a 6 year old not love it?) and because I always thought the crappy ai was kinda cute in an akward way
although I'm starting to like the hydralisk more and more

Wraith, even though their stats suck, they look so cool flying around cloaked. And the wraith voice is so cool.. he sounds so suave and badass. I also like the civilian because even though he's unarmed he's always so cheerful

Vultures! I always thought they were so unique cause they gave you lip and acted in a irritable manner. But soon grew on me as they're one of my favorite units in the game now. =D

I must say I have to agree with airen, everyone seems to have a different favourite. I am with the most popular so far (from what I can tell) which is definitely the hydralisk. I always stupidly make only mass hydralisks in ZvP just because I like them too much >.>. I lose too many games like that.
You just can't get sick of seeing masses of hydras comming from all sides wreaking a protoss army.

Dragoons hold a special place in my heart.
They're kind of like the super-soldiers from return to Castle Wolfenstein
PS hydralisks are the imported rip-off brand of dragoons.

Favorite unit? By far the dark templar.. invisible ninja going against the odds, sneaking into a zerg base, facing near certain death for the cause of his brethren! I always have this image of a lone dark templar, on a blue twilight planet, his feet padding against the dry craggy ground as he runs through a ravine, overlords and masses of hydras on his tail, cape flowing behind him.. the blood of drones oozing slowly down his glowing psi blades.. such a badass..

Dragoon - I like their voice and what they say when spawned "I have Returned."
Zealots - I like what they say when spawned "MY LIFE FOR AIUR"
Dark Archons - <3 Best voice and so u nderused.
Siege Tank - "IDENTIFY TARGET" and they just have the most badass voice.
Vulture - Yeah i love their voice and how they have a smartass attitude.
Lurker - I like the way they sound no idea why..they just sound cool.
Guardian - When i first used them i asked my friend "lol what do you do with guardians?" "Rape face." then i fell in love with them haha

The sound mining SCVs make is so soothing I could fall asleep on it everynight.
The sound that practically every unit makes, from the badass kickass of ghosts, dts and wraiths to the weird but cool dragoons, lurkers and mines planting is just so fucking UNIQUE! I'm so in love with this game. <3
Not to forget that the terran songs ARE SC itself.

protoss - dark templar i love turning around a game just by sneaking a dt into the opponents base, the way they 1hit workers with that blade is orgasmic. Also the way they move/talk in general owns
zerg - mutalisk good muta micro is art i wish i could do it better, also i started off as an all zerg player and i would go mutas in every matchup
terran - vultures they are soo smooth to control, sliding over the ground and around the enemy, planting mines perfectly, raping workers in seconds.
actually this whole game is art and i agree 100% with the person who said scvs mining is the sound of starcraft, it brings back memories of single player when i first started too bad i dont play terran lol
