EPTLater, I posted a link to a Dailymail article, which included the same video except it was censored and edited to remove the graphic content. I did so in order to provide evidence towards a possible Russian-speaking link to the gunmen. The video was again removed and I was warned for posting misinformation.
I challenged the moderator, Aeromi who provided the following justification that he received from a higher up:
Due to [...] being unusually pissy lately, we need to take more care about removing NSFW and other questionable content from TL. By remove, this means the thread has to be galleried or the post edited / deleted - closing a thread means nothing to [...].
Things we need to police:
Excessive vulgarity: swearing, profanity, slurs, etc
Links to shady things: file sharing / warez sites that are often used for pirating (think mega.co.nz, rapidshare, etc)
Sexual themed / suggestive content / videos (eg one of the infractions was for the collegehumor.com 'pedobear trailer' video). Probably even mentioning pedophilia, bestiality, etc is a no-go even if it's just discussion. Anime discussion and KPop threads probably need attention.
Violence, murder, rape, pedophilia, etc. War threads in General for example.
Basically if you wouldn't feel comfortable showing it to your family over dinner, it probably needs to go.

I assume that the video was removed as it was in violation of the 'Violence' clause in the last line. However, I find it hard to believe that a video that is being shown on the website of a major newspaper is too violent for TL. The BBC has the same video up on its website (which I will provide the link to if given permission) and has been airing this on live daytime television. Again, I find it hard to believe that TL's standards on what's acceptable are higher than that of British national television. The litmus test given is that if I wouldn't feel comfortable showing it to my family over dinner, it's inappropriate. The BBC is airing this to thousands of families.
Now, I know that TL isn't the BBC, but I think common sense should prevail here. I would appreciate the input from a Banling or any of the administrative staff.
