It would probably help with new users registering so they can rate (although some might say we have too many new users ;-) ) and it would be a good way to tell if someone is a quality poster.

here on tl.net, threads exist about a wide variety of inane, and useless bullshit, and were the staff to implement such a moderation system, well, i for one would probably use 4/5 points modding idiots/trolls to oblivion, and the odd 1 point for a good, informative post. threads would shrink pretty quick. [EDIT]Here i was speaking strictly about the general forum. the more i think about it though, the more i really believe that strategy / brood war / tournament could really benefit from this but maybe that'd be a good thing ![]()

And maybe for General forum too.Mods can mark thread as a expert topic and moderation will begin. So posters like WhatIsProtoss (aka i'm expert in every field) can be safely ignored.

But there are topics wehere he CLEARLY don't know what he is talking about. Example: On June 29 2006 21:51 WhatisProtoss wrote: Um, what are you talking about? C# is merely a "replacement" for Java. All programmers should know C++ and Java. C# is just a rewritten language based on Java. Don't spew random shit when you don't know what you're talking about. C++ is very important. The fact that YOU SAID people wanted Java/C# more than C++ tells me that you don't know that much. Companies want proficiency in C++ and Java. This example involves me just because it's easier to search for such a specific stuff. This clearly shows that he don't have fucking clue.He is not even close. He si living in 1998. There are more examples but i somewhat can't find them using search function ![]()

for the other sections, sure, it would be a popularity contest (i.e. sundance would always rate WhatIsProtoss' posts down just because they had a gay little fight before). but what's wrong with that? don't the disliked/annoying/stupid posters get banned in the end anyways?

imo for people who aren't exactly pristine staff material, they should get like a faded blue text name or something, but no tl.net logo. based on these guys posting history making them representatives of tl.net is a mistake...

I try not to flame people and be known more as a gm than bm. I flamed one or two people I think, most recently towards the general people who were bugging Pat about PGTour, but normally I don't flame people.

Vomit @ you two. I say while we're at it, make everything rate-able. Threads, Posts, Posters, Polls, Games, etc. And yeah, rating stuff is utter nonsense. Only in the strategy forum would it be totally useless like no one else has pointed out. And why do we even need to rate posts and threads? Are we that desperate for that one golden post etc? Oh nO~ OH nO~~ I mised a joke...fuqqqqq
