Raptors win the championship 4-2. Let the boy dream. They also have a lot of defenders to throw under Kawhi.
How I predicted the 4-2 Toronto Raptors victory - or what I KNEW coming into the finals:
about the Warriors:
- KD is seriously injured, and SHOULD not play (hence, will be a 0 factor to the Warriors)
- They are top-heavy, more now than they were pre-KD, so...
- Without KD, the team has always struggled against hyper-aggressive defense against Curry and Thompson (2016 Cavs, 2016 OKC, 2017-8 HOU)
- Curry has serious flaws when pressured, especially 4th quarter of playoff games. His videogame-level dribbling, his 40-ft shots, and all the swag hide it, but he makes all this stupid mistakes in key possessions.
- The core is capable of winning it from both ends on their good day. Curry and KT can blitz the game into victory as early as 3Q, and KT, Iggy, and Green are elite defenders
- Cousins is meh. He will have half a game or a full game of goodish performance, but his attitude, injury, skills, and approach to the game is not made for championship.
- They are small and shallow, so they will have no key improvements if their main defensive schemes don't work.
- KT is the X factor. He shows up big in important games
- Iggy is the double X factor. He is a old but wise, slower but more skillful. His alley-opping and windmilling at the end of RS games means he has prepared for the finals. He can give Kawhi serious problems defensively.
- They have a losing 0-2 RS record vs. TOR
about the Raptors:
- They are at least equal to the Warriors offensively, and [see #3 about the Warriors above] are much much better defensively than the 2016 Cavs (and OKC and HOU) who won against the core Warriors team.
- Kawhi is S-Class, stable, matuired, wiser, and has ninja killer Jordan/Mamba "this-game-ends-now" mentality. He is the best player on the court (tied with KD), and if they don't strategically take him out of his game, he will simply toy with Green, KT, or anyone they put against him on both ends.
- Lowry is an asterisk. He can give you an disciplined and efficient game like game 4, but he also has all the bad instincts (foul trouble, ill-advised hero balling, poor decision making, etc) to single-handedly sink the Raptor's chance.
- They have a winning 2-0 RS record vs. GSW
- This is the Raptors first time in the finals, but the players are old and have playoffs and championship experience.
- They are bigger and longer than the Warriors. I have doubts with Ibaka (his performance, not his age), but seeing Siakam kinda hold it against legit bigs like Embiid and Giannis (while not always successfully), I knew he will enjoy playing against the much smaller GSW.
about the results (Raptors victory):
- 4-0 is impossible. GSW has serious talent and experience (or heart/pride if you're the sentimental type about this) to be swept in a three-peating finals
- 4-1 is possible, but the GSW are surely capable of more than 1 win.
- 4-3 is impossible. If GSW wins 3 games, and takes it to game 7, they have just barely enough to win it all.
- 4-2 is just right.

As a semi-neutral fan that win has a kind of bitter aftertaste after Klay went down. The Warriors really played their heart out to the end with barely a legitimate squad on the floor. But that Raptors team is real. A lot of guys contributing to the win.
Also yeah the huge delay at the end made it ridiculously anticlimactic :D.

Pretty anti-climatic tbh, minus not winning at home.

I'm pumped! And I think this means Kawhi stays!

There was misdiagnosis at the least and wrong advice on returning to play at worst. heads will roll. hmm...
If we are being honest, the Warriors and NBA need to be investigated for injury report fraud.
Even if I think they probably didn't lie to KD, and what happened was unfortunate, they clearly lied to the public. They consistently said no chance of Achilles in public, initially had his return in 7-14 days, then game 3, then 4, and finally 5. Anyone who bet that the Warriors would win the series should have a valid claim of fraud against them until they release actual exculpatory info.

Are the teams and the league in general obliged to report injuries to the public? I've never heard of such. You are making an angle on the betting side of things, and on that I seriously know nothing about, but do teams have the responsibility to report everything to the public, and not just to parties concerned?

@ix7, where is this "everyone"?
