Last 2 spots are probably going to be Dark + Neeb if he wins GSL or whoever goes furthest in GSL ST of those in 8-14th place Even if Neeb wins gsl he likely won't take a Korean spot. Unless he drops out of top 8 in circuit as well. I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that if he wins GSL he does take a Korean spot. Was it? They said that if someone qualifies from both circuits, the one with the higher rank gets it. Neeb would end up rank 8-9 korea if he wins gsl.

Yes, but the winner of GSL is seeded directly into Blizzcon regardless of WCS points.

I agree that now that foreigners are actually competing with Koreans, the system definitely needs a rework.

Auto qualification only makes a difference if a player is outside top 8 and have it anyway.

If a foreigner wins IEM Katowice then they take the seed for IEM Katowice which then means that they only get to bring 7 seeds to Blizzcon. The only reason that hasn't happened is cuz Koreans won last year and this year by styling on foreigners

I don't know why people fuss about auto blizzcon seeds. They almost never make a difference given that the points awarded from Katowice or gsl are so high anyway

I do agree though that the system does need a rework in favor of the Koreans at this time, because foreigners should not be able to qualify through WCS Korea. However, I have no idea what that would be besides barring foreigners from the GSL altogether, which I don't think anyone wants.
I believe Rifkin brought this up on the Pylon show the other day, and suggested that Artosis get a Korean pro with a translator on the show to discuss the subject. I think that's a very good idea, and hope it happens, we don't get to hear Korean pros' thoughts on things much.

I suppose an idea could be to allow those who are not in WCS Korea qualifying position to play in WCS foreign open brackets, that could be interesting and would prevent a Maru or Stats from going over and smashing every foreigner except Serral, Neeb, Scarlett, and Reynor.

by the way, Neeb has more WCS points from GSL than all his WCS circuit events (independently)

Unless he drops out of top 8 in circuit as well. I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that if he wins GSL he does take a Korean spot. the system is rigged, also for some reason IEM Katowice steals a seed from korea, foreigners get 8 reserved spots + the possibility of winning IEM Katowice, and they theoretically could take all 7 korean spots from GSL too LOL get outta here If a foreigner wins IEM Katowice then they take the seed for IEM katowice whic nthen means that they only get to bring 7 seeds to Blizzcon. The only reason that hasn't happened is cuz Koreans won last year and this year by styling on foreigners yea, which means there are 8 foreigner seeds, 1 IEM Katowice seed, and only 7 "korean"/GSL seeds I think what he's saying is, if a foreigner wins Katowice, then Katowice becomes one of the 8 foreigner seeds, leaving still 8 Korean seeds. oh is it based on who wins? that's interesting I do agree though that the system does need a rework in favor of the Koreans at this time, because foreigners should not be able to qualify through WCS Korea. However, I have no idea what that would be besides barring foreigners from the GSL altogether, which I don't think anyone wants. need to loosen up the region lock, right now it's one-way allowing some koreans in the WCS open brackets would be fun I suppose an idea could be to allow those who are not in WCS Korea qualifying position to play in WCS foreign open brackets, that could be interesting and would prevent a Maru or Stats from going over and smashing every foreigner except Serral, Neeb, Scarlett, and Reynor. too many complications with these rules though

So unless he places very high in Montreal, he would likely qualify from GSL if he won
