2008 Shinhan Bank Proleague Week 10
14:00 KST live on MBC
Prelude
- You? Powerrank 10? What a joke.
- What's up horned fag? 1on1 anytime you want, any map.
- Andromeda it is. The fourteenth. Bring your holy water, cleaning boy.
- Be there to get owned, gaytail.
Today, an age-old controversy will be settled. Or provided with new explosives and fuel, ready to blow your mind yet again.
It was only on the 6th day of the 6th month of 2008, as the so called "Powerrank" for Starcraft Players was released by a Canadian writing under the pseudonym "Fakesteve". On this tenthfold of best Starcraft players of the world, a new face shone on spot 10. He was new, he was shiny, he was clean. He had earned it by defeating numerous foes in an Arena called "Proleague", sporting seven wins in a row in the early season and a total record of 10-3. However, his spot was not uncontested.
While the "Wizard from Canada" had his reasons:

The reason Pure made the list and Lucifer didn't is simply because Lucifer doesn't look anywhere near as good as Pure. He's won a few games, but nothing about him particularily impresses me.

Objections soon arose:

Lucifer should have been above Pure. It's easier to look good against worse players. [...] Lucifer's performance this month has just been better, at least to my eyes.

If anything, Lucifer seems to be the protoss with the most potential. We have how many P's playing like they're gods right now? Only one of them really stands out from the rest in more than a 'I can win a little bit more than you' fashion, and it's Lucifer. It's not coincidence he's still alive in a league right now while Pure hasn't been through into any league in his longer pro career.

In the end, Mortality asks the question:
How do we rate totally unproven players who storm onto the scene (Lucifer, Pure)?

In all honesty that was a cute game by NaDa. I enjoyed it, except for the part where NaDa won.

How to watch
- Yaoyuan should work, with some delay to the Daum stream. Works only in IE and requires the TVAnts plugin (dl here)
- If you have a good connection, use the Daum player (guide here); it has both OGN and MBC, but might buffer every few seconds. If you receive an error message, changing the streaming room is said to help.
