Jaedong

Casy has the best record of any progamer vs Jaedong at 3 wins and 0 losses. Unfortunately for our Neo Emperor those wins were against the '06 and early '07 Jaedong and not the early '08 Jaedong. Many say the map favors Terran in TvZ because of the gasless natural. Nostalgia and 815 also had gasless nats, however, they were for player maps and had easy to hold gas expansions. This new map is wide open and no expansion is easy to hold especially against well controled mnm. Casy has the luxury of having the best controlled mnm in progaming so I wish Jaedong luck in securing a second gas. Despite the possible imalance, Jaedong is in top S-Class shape and we should have a close (and hopefully epic) game.

GGPlay

A gaselss nat does not affect the zerg much in ZvP. The proross however migh have trouble with a fast tech opening like sair/dt or sair/reaver (suck it Bisu). The matchup should be balanced so it should come down to who is the better player. As a matter of fact GGPlay is the better player and should have no problem steamrolling Backho

Winners/loosers @ Andromeda

If Casy wins game one, he will face GGPlay in the winners set. Casy is 0-2 against GGPlay and I have a feeling he will loose for a 3'rd time if the game goes past 20 minutes. To win he needs to a) pacify muta harass and keep muta damage to a minimum and b) if GG is going lurkers to come in with a strong mid-game push and annihalate GGPlay with superior micro. If GGPlay is going straight ultra to push right when the first ultras make and annihalate the ultras with irradiate and d-matrix.

Jaedong will rape backho if he chooses to do so. If he has masochistic tendencies he can go for a retarded lurkerling allin or one base 2 gase muta harass and give his teammate a free win.

Final @ Troy
Jaedong will face GGPlay in a matchup where he is 30-9. Jaedong's ZvZ is clutch and it is safe to say he will come out of the group second.

I think you underestimate Backho abit too much. He will definitly not be a walkover. I think he will advance together with Jaedong. Really a though group! Cant wait! May the best advance!

maybe u didnt know this.. but a map where zerg doesnt have gas at a natural means.. zerg starts off the game allready behind zvt zvp. I myself cant fathom beating such terrans and toss's with no 2nd gas lol.. while yes protoss cant go sair/dt, zerg cant go muta ;;

it feels like they wanted to bring back a map like nostalgia (horrible map) just so zergs get raped >_>
anyways~ gogo ggplay and jaedong prove me wrong

Heh, I call JD GGPlay-I've never seen Casy as a solid player-I've only heard that he was good back in 2006.

And that toss isn't too spectacular at Pv(well known Z)

Maybe you didn't know this but Nostalgia was considered an incredibly well developed, very well balanced map in its day. Despite how this game has evolved, it hasn't changed so much that balance on Nos is destroyed. New school strats are gas demanding and don't work as well there.

The questions about balance on THIS map is not what it has in common with Nos, but what about it is different.

It's two player, so you automatically know your opponent's location. Will this extra cheese-ability have a pronounced effect? And what about the fact that all expansions appear to be either tank-able or flank-able? Etc, etc.

Really hoping Casy can make it. I really want to see some older progaming legends come back to the top...although the newer generation is just so good. It will be tough, but anything is possible.
