Hey everyone, i'm at the Arirang TV station right now, we need at least another week before they can get my work visa. Once they get that in we'll start recording the show. Until then they're showing old recordings of me from the Seoul Estars Festival. Anyways, I have a few questions about Korea for the Korean TL.net members.
1) Where are amature SC tournaments held? Are there any held with cash prizes? What do i have to do to participate in the Courage League? I don't plan on winning, i just think it would be fun to play in.
2) Are there any Arcades in Korea? I can only find PC bangs. There has to be at least one Arcade in Seoul. I'm looking for Beatmania IIDX (or any bemani machine).
3) My first broadcast covers Lucifer vs Grubby in the War of the Worlds tournament Season 2. Jason and I have already studied the games twice, but i want more expert analysis from someone who's better than myself. Would anyone be willing to discuss the games with me via PM or on this fourm?
4) Where can i find a list of bars and restarants in the Nambu Terminal area. That's where i'm living.
5) How much would a top of the line gamer PC cost in koera? Excluding the montor. Delta airlines lost my PC (yes i'm very fucking pissed) and i may have to buy a new one. If they don't find it within a week i may have to give up hope.
Thanks :D

Are they compensating you for the stuff they lost!?

1) You have contacts like Rekrul right? Ogogo might know of some (he is a top amateur player now). 5) Maybe get an XNote laptop or something? I guess their cheap over there.
And from what I saw on Arirang, they (the casters) say the users korean name and not their screen name when casting, for example.
".... and Kwanro with the nice flank on Pusan, he is literally demolishing his units"
will turn into
"... and Han Sang Bong with the nice flank on Park Ji Ho, he is literally demolishing his units"
so I think you might have to get used to this.

First thing you need to do is find some real life contacts for these kinds of things, TL.net is really not the place and is only going to help you so much.
1) Your best way into courage league is to suckup to Dan's roomate Spunky. He has the power and connections to get people in.
2) They are everywhere. Open your eyes next time you go out.
4) I used to live right next to nambu terminal and this is not a special area at all for eating or drinking. There are 2 places worth mentioning, the first one is a sul lung tang (flavorful soup with beef, very good for hangovers, costs like 6000won each). I will give you directions there: imagine you just walked outside of the nambu bus terminal, there is a big intersection, on your right side across the intersection, there is a pizza hut (trees partially cover the sign), walk across the intersection towards it and then keep walking straight past it, walk past the starbucks, past the department store, past the local food market, across a little mini street and then another 1-2 minute walk straight and you will see a well lit restaurant with automatic sliding glass doors on your right. It's open 24 hours and the sign says something like 설넝탕 (cant remember the name exactly, never looked at restaurant signs). The second place is very close to the first place. It has delicious galbi sal and is open until about 10pm every night, it costs like 15000 each (cant remember exactly, didn't look at prices often, always purposely forgot my money and got rekrul to pay). The directions are the same as the first place except you keep walking straight another 2-3 minutes, past a few more restaurants and another mini street, you will see an family mart market(might have been LG) on your right and a galbi restaurant immediately after that, you open the glass door manually and there is a little bell attached to it that you will hear when you enter. This place has a red sign and I have no clue what it's called. I have the number to a few delivery places on my phone, ask me on msn if interested.
5) PCs are very cheap in Korea and they will be delivered right to your door step. You can get the best of the best for 1.5k and something that would probably more than suit your needs for less than 1k. Ask a competent Korean friend to help you order it online and then go to the bank with him to help you transfer the cash to pay for it.
You have pretty bad luck with your luggage on an ongoing basis.

They really should compensate you for the PC - one of the luggage guys probably pinched it

2.) There are ALOT of arcade rooms in Korea, you just got to look in those tight street areas.
5.) Korea has cheap computer parts. It's BEST to build one and cost WAY cheaper. If you are able to read Korean, danawa.com should compare prices for you. If not, you may try checking out Yong San. Be aware of rip offs though. It's basically like a bargain place. Say one store gave you a cheaper price, they'll drop theirs.
Hope to see you in Arirang TV, I'll be going to Osan AB in May so I'll be definitely checking out the progamming scenes.

2) There's a really good arcade in Gosok terminal. It's inside the mall (forgot the name) connected to the subway station and it's very hard to miss.

if you show proof to delta airlines, they will have to reimburse you
one of my friends' computers (apple) got lost in transit luggage, so he went and argued with the airport peeps - they reimbursed him around $2000 and he got a newer comp (the original was around $2000, but with the advent of new tech, apple didn't make his old comp anymore haha)
i hope you get your comp back. looking forward to hearing some quality commentating~

Gotta give us new guys a break. Remember I kept asking you how to say the same word that one night, I dunno why I kept forgetting it, and I don't remember it now.

2) There's a big cluster of arcades in 노량진/Noryangjin. Also, there is a pretty famous arcade near Isu/이수 station (Afreeca internet TV often broadcasts tournament streams from here).
