Deadly Premonition the Directors Cut (PS3)

s3rp Germany3192 Posts June 06 2013 03:24 GMT #1 I'm kinda suprised there's no Thread about this game already so i might as well start it. Well what is Deadly Premonition ? It's a survival horror game in the style of Twin Peaks where you play as an FBI Agent solving a murder case. It's also been called one of the most divisive games and polarizing games of all time and also the best worst game of all time when it was first released in 2010 for Xbox . Why you ask ? Well on one hand there are horrible old Xbox/PS1/2 like Graphics . Seriously just look it this! Isn't that just hideous ? Also there's a pretty clunky controls , especially the driving. The combat isn't that much better , an almost useless minimap and did mention the horrible Graphics ? So why in the hell should you consider picking up this piece of shit ? Well it also has a fantastic and superstrange wierd storyline that will suprise and weird you out to no end. An extreme amount of eccentric and funny characters and tons of memorable moments THIS is how the Pause/Menu Screen looks Until last month the game was only available on Xbox 360. Now there the directors cut out for PS3 which fixed some problems with that plagued the Xbox release while also adding some new Content ( and apparently some problems with the framerate at times -.- ) So has anyone else picked up this game ? Did so back in 2010 for Xbox 360 ? Any opnions out here ? I just picked it up for PS3 and it's well it's strange and awful but also tons of fun at the same time . Definitly something you have to play to believe it exists in its awefulsomeness

Let's start with the official Trailer for the Directors Cut And add a two more that perfectly show the adsurdity and overall weird- and creepyness of the game .

XD To be fair you said it made the game hillarious and enjoyable because it is so bad, but i dont think thats a good arguement for it. Its defo not Awful games done quick bad-good

There are some terrible things that hamper this game and it's still one of the most memorable games out there. It's a memorable and fun experience that coul've been significantly better with a bigger budget some smarter decision during development.

Despite major flaws in Gameplay ( some can be avoided by completing sidequests or by finding the right way to do things , some can't ) and other areas like Graphics and on Ps3 strange performance issued from time to time this is truely on of the best games i've ever played . Everyone that enjoys a greatly told story ( towards the end when everything gets revealed it all kind of becomes a huge mindfuck ) should play this IF he can overlook some glaring issues . There's also Beginners Guide's people probably should look though before playing else it can be extremely frustrating unless you're lucky enough to figure out some stuff by accident like me . ( I got one of the best Weapons pretty early by accident and it made the game a whole lot easier same with the fasted methods to get around i also figured out how to skip the painfully long altough funny animations for alot of stuff ) I can't directly tell you what the faszination with this game sadly without spoilering .
