I´m kinda tired of this not only in starcraft but also in other games. I can very well tell my opponent what i want and how i want it. Also you have an ignore function in game and an ignore function post game also I highly doubt any body even takes it seriously. Im kind of sickened by the way that blizzard reacts to flamers. Especially on their forums. I find it completely childish and stupid to ban people for swearing especially when its censored.
I never got a ban ingame for flaming even though i do it a lot but i´ve already recieved two permanent bans on the bnet forums for flaming under the reasoning of harrassment which is just laughable.
I´d like to hear your opinions on this topic.
Edit: took out the free speach part since thats all you people ever go on about. You can mute ingame and post game so banning for flame is just laughable.

People play this game to have fun. Not to be abused by people like you.

You don't have free speech in the confines of another company. Blizzard is giving you the privilege to chat in their game, and they have the right to revoke it. Like it or not, that's something you have to accept when you choose to play the game.
|
I don't think you understand what freedom of speech actually means.

okay, so now were all gonna start behaving like little kids? If someone at school or college calls you a dick head do you go crying to the head master? no you dont. Id also excpect the same behaviour on the internet.

Reading that was all I needed to know that you're wrong, what people don't seem to get is that a game of starcraft, or dota doesn't have anything to do with your rights as a citizen or a human being, it's not a right but a privilege, a privilege that can be revoked if you don't act the way blizzard or steam wants you to. In the end Blizzard wants to make money, that's the only reason why they let you play on THEIR servers, you don't have the right of free speech, you have the rights they gave to you when you agreed to the EULA and that's it.
|
What about simply being respectful with other human beings while playing a videogame? Useless thread.
|
Just because you're an immature prick doesn't mean you have the right to exercise your frustration in an aggressive manner and everyone has to tolerate it because of "free speech" (which has nothing to do with insulting other people - and only because you can't deal with getting beat in a computer game or for any other trivial "reason", for that matter). Grow up and learn to deal with your emotions in a civil manner rather than accept your lack of restraint.
So yeah, I'm all for banning people who can't behave in accordance with well-established social norms - and most of the time only because of the anonimity and a feeling of security the internet gives them.

you have your "right to free speech", and blizzard has their right to ban you account. that's how it works.

If you are at school and someone calls you a dick, no you generally dont go to the headmistress or whatever. However, if you call enough people a dick, then someone will. Thats the same as it is in game. Keep doing something bad, and you will get your comeuppance. Same as in the real world in any situation.
|
It's not because you can chat with strangers that you should also be an asshole at the same time just because you dont agree with something. The veil of anonimity shouldn't prevent you from being a nice person. This has little to do with 'free speech' if you ask me.

What about being realistic about the world we live in?
|
Or you know instead of everyone around you needing to change to your ways, how about you change? I know crazy right.
Yeh I also go to other strangers and curse at them like a madman... grow up.

First of all i have my right of free speech so i can very well tell my opponent what i want and how i want it.
You're sounding quite entitled here...
|
What does being realistic have to do with being a douche bag?

Ask yourself why you flame on the bnet forums, you flamed enough to get banned TWICE, it doesn't really matter what you're talking about but that's not what a forum is there for, so you're basically just being unnecessarily rude and I see no reason why blizz should allow that. And do you really think THEY are the childish part of the conflict? Come on man...

The realistic thing is that there are 10-year-olds playing the game and they don't need to interact with people like you.

TL should ban the OP now for even starting this thread.
|
Rambling about your freedoms doesn't give you a free card to talk shit especially in a private sphere, like blizzard's battle.net.

I don't know what there is to discuss honestly. You got banned for poor posting/flaming, that seems pretty reasonable to me
