[SSL] Jin Young Hwa ( Movie), "I'm here to win."
HeartCaption-Movie has risen
Previously playing on Team 8 and CJ Entus before that and even reaching the finals of a major individual league, Movie defeated Park Soo Bum ( Tyson) and Choi Min Soo ( Perry) and moved on to the Round of 16. During his progaming days there was some criticism that his PvP was lacking, Movie stated, "I won because my mind was calm". While preparing and streaming occasionally he mentions, "My goal for this tournament is 1st."
Q. Your thoughts on moving onto the Round of 16.
Movie - I was worried having 3 Protosses in my group. However moving on taking out 2 protosses I think that relieved of my image of being 'Walled by Protoss'.
Q. You played 4 PvPs.
Movie - I think I won because I played comfortably and preparing my builds based on my instincts. When I was a progamer my preparations weren't focused and ended up badly for me, but now that I'm playing what I want it's going well for me.
Q. You must've practiced many PvP's
Movie - I didn't focus on it, I practiced like I always do.
Q. Did you think you would pass through the Winner's Match?
Movie - My first opponent Perry wasn't a widely known player, but since he was previously on Hwaseung Oz I believed he had a chance to win. But my play was far above him psychologically.
Q. How have you been since your retirement?
Movie - In the daytime I'm preparing to transfer*, and during the night I'm broadcasting.
[T/N: After searching I don't know what he's preparing for and it is not included in article, I'm assuming for his military service]
Q. Do you have a lot of fans on AfreecaTV?
Movie - I have my ups and downs for viewer numbers. It's important to be good at other things than just games on AfreecaTV, and I lack those qualities. I get acknowledged for my skills but I'm weak at showing them off.
Q. So is this your first entrance in Sonic Starleague?
Movie - Yes it is my first. Playing in an offline setting again, it felt like I was in a tournament qualifier. It's been a long time since I've felt this nervousness.
Q. The people moving onto the Round of 16 are impressive. It's a lineup that would remind one of Starleague or MSL. Are you excited?
Movie - I meet these players often online. Playing today, I could feel a clear difference. It's going to be fun.
Q. Byun Hyung Tae (Iris) and Tyson were part of your team at one time. How did you feel meeting them today?
Movie - If it was possible I didn't want to meet them in my group yet here we were. Meeting them face to face we had a chance to talk, it was enjoyable.
Q. Your goal or resolution for this tournament?
Movie - Since I'm involved, I want to win. During my progaming career I never won a title, I want to win the Sonic Starleague. I may not be a licensed progamer anymore but I hope the fans will cheer me on.
[SSL] Park Soo Bum ( Tyson), "I could feel Byun Hyung Tae's ( Iris) passion so I focused".
Your winner Han-Tyson-Bridge
Tyson defeated Iris twice and moved onto the Round of 16 in Sonic Starleague. After losing to Movie in a W-L-L fashion in the Winner's Match, he showed his strong PvT reminiscent of his progaming days and took the win. In the Final Match Tyson build around 40 gateways, Tyson mentioned "I wanted to do a nexus rush and receive his surrender, but since Iris played his heart out I couldn't do it and played normally" and "I think there are no weak players in this tournament and I want to reach the Round of 4."
Q. You moved on to the Round of 16.
Tyson - I had to move on. During my progaming career I couldn't reach a Round of 16, but in SSL I thought I could.
Q. You defeated Iris twice.
Tyson - While watching Iris play against Perry, I saw that his sense as a progamer was still alive so I did not lower my guard. Since I was more active playing the game, I felt like I had better game sense than him.
Q. I remember you had good PvT during your progamer days. Are you still confident in your PvT?
Tyson - In PvT's I had a mindset that I could defeat all of them. In the Round of 16 there are many strong ex-progamers so I won't be careless and prepare myself.
Q. You lost to Movie who was your teammate on Team 8. Why did you think you lost.
Tyson - To be honest I lost to Movie because he was a class above me. If we meet again I will show a better game.
Q. In the first set of the Final Match, you made around 40 gateways. Was it to show your strength?
Tyson - Iris kept himself alive, I wanted to build nexuses but I could feel his efforts so as a junior I thought it was improper behavior against a senior. I had too much banked up resources. After spending my armies offensively, to safely produce I built many gateways.
Q. In set 2, you almost lost to early vulture harass.
Tyson - My build had the advantage, I knew if I didn't make a big mistake I could win.
Q. How have you been since your retirement? I hear that you're in your second golden age.
Tyson - Living the dorm life as a progamer for 5-6 years, I wanted to rest at home. After a small break I still had the desire to play SC1 and hearing there were many viewers on AfreecaTV I started to broadcast.
Q. Who do you want to meet in the Round of 16?
Tyson - The majority of them are ex-progamers. There are no weak players in Sonic Starleague. They're all good players so whoever I meet I will do my best.
Q. Your goal or resolution for this tournament?
Tyson - Since I'm now playing from home, it feels different. So at least for this tournament my goal is the Round of 4.
