SupremCommander-Forged Alliance Forever

Hi,

The development of FAF ended in a bang some months ago (remember the awesome launch event with TLO/TBO/Chris Tayler and of course Gowerly ? .
All the goals of FAF were reached, except one...

But I've recently got some pressure to make more things happening.

I'm not found of vaporware, that's why I want to set it in stone if something happen. That's why this is happening now :

The project will be founded no matter the final amount is. The amount of features will depend of the final goal.

If it doesn't reach the goal, I will still work on some improvements for FAF (basically all the stuff that you've asked and that I've answered by "here is the lobby code").

If the goal is reach, Galactic War will happen.

The complexity of the features will depend of the final amount, so I don't want to say things I won't be able to do. But it will as good as it can.

If you wonder why we are using indiegogo instead of kickstarter : You need to be a US/british citizen to use kickstarter. Also, indiegogo allow a project to be funded even it doesn't reach the goal, ensuring that something will happen no matter what !

It was planned, and it reach almost all his goals. Almost ...

Due to my lack of free time, Galactic War was never released. But free time can be bought, and that's why I'm starting this campaign !


What We Need & What You Get

The goal I've set should be enough to get a nice boost for GW developpement.
Some code is already written, but it need all the backend to be completed.

I can't give an ETA on any of the features, but here is what is planned, as soon as possible, in order :

- Better avatar system.
- Mixed Featured Mods, and better support for mod developpers.
- A working replay vault.
- A Galactic War system equivalent to zero-K.

Every supporter will get an "alpha" access to the GW part of the lobby as soon as it's ready.

If we go past the fixed goal, I'm thinking of hiring a freelancer to help me with the code, and add tons of cool features to it.
What is Galactic War ?

Galactic War will be a meta-game where you battle for a single faction, for the control of the galaxy.

You will have to protect planet in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, add shields/defense weapons to them, and finally win the Infinite War.

The Result

We can possibly bring more players to FAF, and fix the thing that are not quite good enough.

That can also be a platform for our own Planet Annihilation Galactic War if uber lobby is not good enough. Or why not a cross-over ?
