Liquipedia HotS Show
The New Black
So much has happened since the last Liquipedia Review. MC walked into the OSL group selection dressed as The Undertaker; TaeJa (sadly) only all killed IM once in the TAC 3 Grand Finals; Day[9] took a vacation; Jinro, AnNyeong, and biGs retired from pro-gaming; Tasteless said fuck a lot; TSL 4 went from start to finish; and we’ve seen Gangnam Style about a hundred million times.
However, we here at Liquipedia haven’t been resting on our laurels either. This is a really packed news post, because there’s so many things to cover. Just check this Table of Contents on the right, see how packed it is? See it? It's packed like a Medivac carrying two Vikings!
Finally the New Logo is Here!
Some of you might have noticed that at the end of June the puzzle globe disappeared from Liquipedia—it’s okay, I know you didn’t—anyhow we got it replaced finally. A super special big thanks goes to fusefuse (who is in the Estonian Defence Forces at the moment, but please check out his last blog before he left) who did a huge number of drafts and handled hearing us nagging about tiny details and vague descriptions of why something wasn’t working etc. Big thanks goes to all the staff on TL, especially the GFX people, who helped us out with suggestions, drafts and feedback.
Here are some wallpapers made by fusefuse:
New Wiki to Cover Dota 2
You might have heard about this already in an earlier announcement here on TL.net, but we’ve added a Dota 2 as the third wiki we’re doing. The game is still in beta, and the wiki is still in its initial stages. If you want to help out just head on over to http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2. We also have a thread about it here where you can come with suggestions, ask for help, and talk to others interested in Liquipedia's wiki for Dota 2.
Some New Staff
So this is actually not new, but just before the last news post DivinO and Koorb both got the highly sought after puzzle piece.
DivinO has been helping us out in all manner of ways, not least of which would be with making images; graphic design is something he’s rather good at. But mostly he reviews and edits player pages. Chances are if you read a player page, he’s at least fixed a capitalization error on it, or a comma, bad grammar, misspelled words... you get the picture. He’s very thorough, and we really like people who are thorough.
Koorb is rare as he is someone who actually writes articles on Liquipedia. And when I mean “write” I mean in not just words or a sentence. He writes paragraph upon paragraph of text to create well formulated, easy to read, and interesting articles of some of our more prolific players and events, all while suffering greatly from the misfortune of being French.
On to some new staff news then:
Just a few days ago shz and PhiLtheFisH got their puzzle pieces too. And we also added ChapatiyaqPTSM and miwi as junior staff. Welcome to the team, guys!
New Front Page Design
So we updated the design of our StarCraft 2 Main Page to be more informative, more accessible, and more geared towards the readers. If you’re a contributor and are wondering where all the Work Focus and Editor links have gone, in the Portal list there’s one called Community, click that to get those two boxes and more.
The front page now includes:
StarCraft II News
Yes, actual news items. We will update this with some short headlines with links to pages where you can read more about the news-piece.
Featured Article
For a month we will highlight one of the wiki’s best articles on the front page. These articles represent what we would like all of our articles to look like. The current article being featured is Stephano. So if, for example, you belong to a fanclub, get your clubbies to all help out making a great article page for your player, and it might just get featured.

These are big friendly links to get to the major hubs of the wiki quicker.

Protoss Strategy Portal
by PhiLtheFisH
If there was one section on the SC2 wiki in need of improvement, I think everybody could agree on the strategy section. While it isn't brand new anymore, we'd still like to present the first step towards a wider coverage of strategy on the wiki; our shiny Protoss strategy portal.
Its main purpose is to be the hub for all Protoss strategy related content on the wiki, with all of the content just one click away. Therefore we collected all the strategy articles on the wiki, categorized them by match-up and game stage, and divided them by quality. You can find this exhaustive list of builds at the bottom of the portal. The portal also consists of two featured articles, one being a specific build order, while the other one focuses on general advice on how to cope with common game situations. Lastly, it also highlights a couple of interesting recent VODs and Replays, linked to its respective article on the wiki. This allows you to check quickly whether there is a new replay for your desired strategy on the wiki.
While the new portal looks flashy, there is a lot that needs work below the surface. But we’re not only looking for more contributors to keep the Protoss strategy up to date, we'd also love to create portals for the other two races. So if you are motivated to help (and motivation really is the only prerequisite), I invite you to visit the corresponding project page on the wiki and/or join us on IRC. To close out, I'd like to thank pPingu, Sated and WarSame for their help to start this project and I hope that many of you will join us.
Stories from the Twitterverse
So we’re quite proud of our twitter following, and the people we get to interact with there are usually super nice and awesome (cause everyone likes Liquipedia, durr). So this time we thought we should share one of the more fun interactions we’ve had lately.

Liquipedia HotS Show
by tofucake & Pholon
We've recently done our first episode of a new show that looks at the new HotS units one at a time. We're still piloting and trying things out, but we'll try to get a few more going in the future. We aired our pilot episode on Monday, Sep 10 12:00am CEST (GMT+02:00), with Liquid`Sheth and Gretorp coming on to discuss the Viper with our contributor Drazak. Check it out if you have time, and look out for new episodes in the future!
So to round off we’d also like to tell you all about our new Facebook page where you can click Like©®™, interact, or comment on stuff if you so please.
Speaking of like button clicks, we'd like to make one thing clear: We accept all kinds of gratitude you want to show us, be it liquor, money, like/g+ button clicks, liquor, being a caster who wants to host an episode, being a player who wants to play an episode, liquor, and/or elephant or pony plushies, but the best way is, and will most likely always be, to actually contribute with ideas and/or edits (also liquor).
We hope that many of you will help us out as we have so much new content to cover with both Dota 2 and HotS beta.
Thanks for reading, see you on the wiki!
