EDIT: For those of you who are wondering why I posted this in the SC2 section:
I posted this in the SC2 section so that people will be aware that this is coming up. I wanted the SC2 community to know about this so that they could tune in for the final BW finals. This game is the sole reason SC2 exists anyways, so why not pay your respects for the final farewell to an amazing game that kept thousands and thousands of people entertained for 10+ years?
Also, I'm pretty sure this was discussed to death in the BW section so I figured making it there would be redundant. Anyways, on the to the main point:
The final BW OSL finals is coming up. I think we should all do our best to tune in to watch the last BW finals and pay tribute to this amazing game. BW gave birth to SC2 and a legendary rivalry. How awesome is it that we get to see the climax for both on the same day?
Starting from the Ro8, TVing OSL held what was known as "Legends Matches", which featured two legendary BW pro gamers each week and pitted them against each other.

As expected, it was the 'Lim Jin Lock'.
On July 30th, at 1:00pm at the eSports stadium that held the TVing StarLeague finals media day conference, the legends' match final two players were announced. As predicted by many fans and experts, the final legends match that is going to occur right before the TVing OSL finals will be the 'Emperor of Terran' SlayerS_BoxeR vs 'Storm Zerg' Xenics Storm_YellOw. Caster Juhn Yong Jun stated that "the greatest match up that we've prepared for this OSL's finals will be the "Lim Jin Lock" between 'emperor' Lim Yo Hwan and 'storm' Hong Jin Ho. The greatest eSports match up ever will be held right before the TVing StarLeague OSL finals. BoxeR and YellOw were known as the two best rivals in eSports history. The head to head between these two were known to provide the most explosive show matches ever, and the the rivaly between the two was titled "Lim Jin Lock." Even after YellOw retired, the rivalry between the two was so great that the SC2 show match that featured BoxeR vs YellOw was such a popular and prideful feat. BoxeR is currently a 'playing coach' for the professional SC2 team SlayerS. Recently his health status has not been the best so he has put a hold on his professional gaming career, but he is still the oldest and most experienced gamer alive right now.
YellOw is currently affiliated with the professional team Xenics Storm for League of Legends. The team, Xenics Storm, that coach Hong (YellOw) is in charge of is a team that is held highly and counted as one of the teams to take the League of Legends Summer 2012 championship. To commemorate the final StarCraft 1 StarLeague finals, the Legends' Match "Lim Jin Lock" will be held on August 4th, at 6:00pm at the Jamsil Student Gymnasium. The map will be Fighting Spirit. The 2012 TVing OSL finals will be Samsung KHAN's JangBi vs SKTelecom T1's FanTaSy.
UPDATE: English cast will be available for this finals Oo

Boxer retired from SC2 due to shoulder problems. I don't know how these probelms will impact the preparation. Altough I am sure he still can bunker rush.

Should be a great finale to the OSL. But please BoxeR, Bunker rush YellOw the whole series :p

Epic! This will be so much fun.
Also, I thought Boxer was just on a break. Didn't he say that he will return to SC2 progaming for HotS?
|
Boxer has just pwned Yellows head for 3 bunkers! Boxer is on a killing spree! Boxer has a Triple Kill!

Sorry for a newbie question but I'm not an SC1 player. What's the relationship between Boxer vs Yellow and the (actual) finals? Did Boxer not make it to the finals or was he not participating at all? Thanks for indulging me with a little explanation.

Just check Sayle's stream, he generally restreams all the OSL events and provides English commentary. I play SC2 but am a BW chobo, and I can follow the games really well with his commentary.
I'm actually throwing a viewing party at my place Saturday morning so that all my friends (who I've already got watching SC2) can experience the thrill of professional BW before it's gone forever. I'll definitely tune in early for the Lim Jin Lock, I hope they practice enough to give us some exciting games!

Boxer no longer competes in SC1 and thus did not participate in the OSL, he's currently coaching and playing for the SC2 team SlayerS, but he's on the bench as a player due to a shoulder injury.

Boxer will take it with ease, Yellow is on the dark side...

BoxeR didn't retire... He said that he will come back for sure and that the fans shouldnt worry about retirement...

Thank you. How telling of Boxer's fame it is that a showmatch by him after retiring from SC1 overshadows the current competition, so that Boxer is mentioned on the top and throughout, while the actual finalists only in the last sentence.
Reading his autobiography right now. Probably going to come and watch the match, although I never really played SC1 multiplayer.
