Highlights from Media Day:
The day started off with an introduction by MC Joon, Um Jae Kyung and Kim Carrier, each took time to explain the significance of this final and share their own feelings and predictions for the upcoming final. Kim Carrier's observation that Fantasy appears to want the final more seemed to fly in the face of his history with Jangbi and his utter elation when Jangbi used carriers in the previous final.
Jangbi eventually got a chance to respond and continued in the same vein of confidence that he has been mining since his return to form in 2011. He responded to Kim Carrier by stating that he wants the title just as much as Fantasy and does not believe he, as a Protoss, should lose to a Terran in a best of five series. Fantasy was not short of confidence himself, respoding in kind to Jangbi's assertion about PvT balance by reminding the KHAN player that he is no ordinary Terran.
As the questions rolled in it became clear that while OGN are keen to keep the narrative about transition and their "new beginning, most of the press and even the players themselves were conscious of the past and the end of something great. The announcement of the final legends match, between Boxer and Yellow, was a surprise to few in the audience but again reinforced the tone of retrospection. Many references were made by press and the OGN casters to the records set by Fantasy's SKT Terran predecessors and the inconsistent history of Protoss in the OSL which Jangbi is seeking to deny.
Although mention was made of the pressures the transition has placed on the players and the difficulties faced by those working in the eSports industry today, the press conference maintained a relatively light hearted tone throughout. Jangbi and Fantasy laughed together when one Korean journalist suggested that their escape from the Kong line was not yet complete, while Kim Carrier was again quizzed on his continuing love for Carriers and the condition of his tear ducts.
In responding to one of the final questions the OGN PD again looked towards the future and mentioned that OGN would be, for the first time, running an English broadcast of this OSL final. The other casters and MC Joon also expressed their desire for this last final to be a celebration of Starcraft and a springboard for future successes, rather than a memorial service to yet another Korean eSports institution that has come and gone.
I think it might be streamed at TVOngamenet on YouTube but I'm not 100% on this.
Either way, myself, kjwcj and JSy (translator/photographer) will be attending on behalf of Teamliquid. It will start at 1pm.
Stuff that is covered at media day include; - Revealing the legend match - Photoshoots - General press Q&A
I might miss out on some other things, but, if you want a question asked to either Fantasy or Jangbi in relation to the final, this could be your opportunity (time permitting).
Follow me on Twitter (@TL_GTR), and I'll try my best to update from the event if the Korean ESPORTS sites are not.

GTR, might want to provide a specific date for the event?
|
For Fantasy: "You said that the series against Jangbi would be easier than the one against Flash. Do you still feel this way?"

Er, today.

For Jangbi: "Will we see carriers again?"
|
Shit, I wonder what the legend match will be! Likely to be a final boxer vs yellow ye?
God I'm so bad at thinking of questions.. however it would be very interesting to know what either of them feel of the future of brood war, regarding the whole C-OSL and stuff. I know Jangbi said he would keep playing brood war in pc-bangs, so obviously the love is still there Can't come up with a specific question though. maybe just a comment on it?
Thanks GTR!

Aroun Lepkhammany, GTR are you Mr. Lepkhammany?
|
fantasy: "have you learn to eat hamburgers"

Ask Fantasy, if he wins, does that mean him and Jangbi are equals (1-1 in finals) or does it mean he's greater than Jangbi? (because he's won the OSL before)
|
Cool man. Hope you get some good coverage!
A question for either: How do you feel about this OSL being the last in Star 1?

For Fantasy: How much pressure are you really feeling to live up to Boxer's and iloveoov's legacy of SKT Terran for this last OSL?
For everybody: Could it be possible that Grrrrr plays in last legend match? He was the first OSL winner
|
Ask Fantasy if he has sufficiently rewarded the faith of his mentors.
Ask JangBi how it would feel to be more successful than Stork.
|
WTH sick!
Really do hope they stream this

For both - the two of them ended up in the finals of the last two OSLs, doesn't that prove they are in fact the best two players at the end of Broodwar? Do they feel underrated, with all the praise TBLS are still getting meanwhile?
|
ask the OSL organizers that are making the SC2 OSL: how can you live with yourselves?
|
ask the players: this OSL has had 0 new maps and 0 non-4player maps. Has this made it harder to devise strategies for your matches?
ask the organizers: is there any possibility that there will ever be another BW tournament on OGN? - if the organizers aren't taking questions then ask the players if they have a desire to continue competing in BW if it were possible / if they think they will ever play in another BW tournament.

"How can you see the masses of fans still passionate about BW and tell them this is the last OSL?" Then give him watering puppy dog eyes. ;p lol
I guess it'll be nice to hear the announcement of the Legend Matches, but I don't really wanna know about all the stuff they plan to do with SC2 and tarnishing the legacy and name of OSL. Which I think must be mostly what this is about... How they are going to continue into the 'future of esports' with SC2 and hope their fans stay with them... Basically beg for us not to abandon them after they drop BW.
If Mike Morhaime makes and appearance please throw a shoe at him keke
