It is with great pleasure and pride that we, ALT StarCraft, officially announce our partnership with the wonderful folks at Cyber Sports Network (CSN). Our partnership comes with a lot of exciting news for not only ALT StarCraft but CSN as well. From this point forward, all tournaments hosted and administered by ALT StarCraft will be exclusively powered by CSN's technology leading tournament system. But first, we would like to recap our decision as to why we opted to approach CSN with a possible partnership.
We have tried several websites in the past but we havent felt quite at home with our previous websites. That's when Team Manager, Steven "Freedom" Rush put us in touch with the Fantastic John Clark of CSN. Along with his contact came the incredible reputation of CSN as well as the many recommendations of tournament organizers, team managers, and players. Soon, we were in discussion with Mr. Clark in regards to what ALT could do for CSN and what CSN could do for ALT. We at ALT Starcraft have always embraced the idea for a league that appeals to all players: from Bronze League to Grandmaster, from Korean to foreigner, from child to parent. With CSN following the same goals, it did not take long for both of us to reach the conclusion that we were in a perfect position to help one another and eSports as a whole.
Our varied dimension as not only a tournament hosting organization but a competitive team couples well with CSN; a website with several dimensions of their own, including multi-platform competitions, eSports news, their Climbing the Ladder talk show, and a brand new and innovative foundation for tournament organizers to explore. CSN is also well known for paying very close attention to the feedback of its users. John Clark and main coder Gordon Hon are very intent on keeping up with the requests of players and organizers alike. The easier it is for everyone to use, the more inclined they will be to use it in the future. Both ALT and CSN seek to move forward in eSports with rapid pace.
So, you may be wondering what does this mean for ALT StarCraft and for the players who compete in our tournament. Truthfully, it is quite simple: all of our tournaments will now be hosted using the wonderful platform provided by CSN. Everything will be easily accessed from the front page of CSN and our AGL-Invitational will continue to remain invite only. The wait-list system allows us to instill back up players just in case some players do not show for the main event so it will allow us to never fall short of our full 64-player maximum.
In addition to ALT StarCraft events being hosted strictly on CSN, it also gives way to hosting tournaments in conjunction. While we do not have any specific news at this moment we are planning a few exciting tournament format involving great pro players and some really informative casting. More on this in the future.
ALT StarCraft would like to thank CSN for the opportunity to work with them. We promise not to disappoint. We would also like to thank all of our viewers, fans, tournament participants, and the hardworking gentlemen in our organization and competitive team. For more information on our tournament dates and times, visit our Official AGL-Thread.
Please tune into SC2 Up & Coming tonight for the latest news in the semi-pro scene with TheRealNanMan, SamSC2, and myself. We will be graced with a visit from John Clark of CSN to discuss our partnership! It goes live at 9:30pm EST.
You can sign up for our very first tournament hosted on CSN by clicking here. If you have previously qualified for the AGL-August though either Z33K or Playhem and have not been re-registered via CSN, please contact me via PM and I will make sure that you are added to the tournament.
Best Regards,
