[VODs] The Famous Victories of Lee Jae Dong

This ancient game was played in an ace match between Lecaf and AirForce ACE. Despite having annoying glitch against him, Jaedong wins a game that he will later call 'the one he was most proud of'.

- Having dropped the first set of his Royal Road OSL finals with a poorly executed all-in, Jaedong mentally regroups and hits Stork with a sick Mutalisk timing in game 2. Known as the famous "ee han timing" game (this one timing!).

- After decisive wins in sets 2 and 3, Jaedong brings it all home in a late-game victory, cementing his first OSL title win and continuing the LWWW "Jaedong result". Further reading: Hot_Bid's "Heir Apparent" final edit.

Jaedong's OSL win over Stork had cemented him as a great Zerg, but in Jaedong's early days, his ZvP was downright atrocious (having lost to Rock in a Bo5). Despite his OSL victory, many questioned what would have happened if Bisu had made the finals instead. In the next MSL, these questions were about to answered as Bisu placed Jaedong in his Ro32 group, setting up the two giants for this epic clash on Blue Storm. - After defeating Flash (once again in LWWW fashion) in the MSL's Round of 8, Jaedong faces off against the previous season's champion, Mind, in the semifinals.

- Lucifer, an up and coming Protoss player at the time, does a proxy 2 gate strategy in the middle of Colosseum and scouts Jaedong's 12 hatchery opening. Describing anything more about the match would be a spoiler of how amazing Jaedong's defence is.

- Another game that caused TL to explode with theorycrafting, Jaedong faces off against the still relatively new Fantasy. As Fantasy pushes out with his medic marine ball, Jaedong defends with an Ensnare and a perfect Lurker/Ling surround. Later, he says using Queens requires too much APM, to the disappointment of nerds everywhere.

- One of the many anticipated clashes of unarguably the two best players in Brood War in late 2008 and 2009, this time in a Proleague Ace Match.

- In one of Firebathero's most amazing moments, an earlier encounter between the two players led to a sweating Jaedong conceding the game against Firebathero's Battlecruiser strategy. In typical Jaedong fashion, however, full rage-mode is activated in this anticipated rematch. Prefaced by some pre-game trashtalk by Firebathero: "I will send Jaedong into a slump so severe he will never recover." Watch for BM at the very end!

- One of the most exciting games of the LeeSsangRok, this match occurs during the 2009 Winner's League Playoffs. Back then, the lineup (or in WL's case, the first player) was released ahead of time, and so KTF had a number of days to prepare, as Hwaseung Oz had elected to send Jaedong first. One by one, KTF's players all fell, and finally the Ultimate Weapon was unveiled to try and stop the Tyrant on the verge of a Jaedong all-kill. Watch for JD's multitasking in this one.

- Having successfully all-killed KTF in the Winner's League semifinals by sending Jaedong first, Oz figures hey, why not, and does it once more against CJ Entus in the finals. Jaedong successfully takes out the rookie EffOrt in a ZvZ, and comes up against the experienced Iris in set 2. A game most famous for Jaedong's ridiculous Mutalisk micro as he manages to eventually take 5 bases with the power of all-in Mutalisk harass alone, including microing two groups at once to oneshot Iris's turret defense.

- Meticulous preparation had earned Fantasy's mech variations two victories in the Batoo OSL finals, but Jaedong had clawed his way back, setting up this final clash in Set 5. Key moment: Fantasy glitches a Vulture across the Medusa back-temple minerals, only to meet the defensive powers of... a Jaedong drone.

- It's kind of unfair when your opponent has both the greatest Mutalisk micro in the game, and maphacks as well. Leta finds out the hard way what happens when you try to cheese the Tyrant.

- Failing his earlier cheese attempt, Leta decides to go for his signature (and at the time, only) TvZ build, 2 port wraiths. Yeah you read that correctly ... he goes for an air micro battle against Jaedong.

- I think an old LR thread post for this match summarizes it best: "It's like Hiya bet him, 'bet you can't beat zealot/archon with just muta/ling'".

- Facing uncharacteristically strong play from Canata, Jaedong carries the risk to maximum by throwing down hidden mining base on Carthage 3. A model example of abusing that strategy to beat Terran player.

- This crucial win happened during one of the first ever times anybody here on TL doubted Jaedong's ZvZ skills. After a 0-2 loss to Effort in the GOMTV Classic, CJ Entus sends its star Zerg against Oz in this Proleague playoff super ace match - ZvZing Jaedong on purpose was something unheard of at this time. A tense micro battle ensues, during which JD's killer eyes come out. The banner for this thread is taken from this match.

- Jaedong's infamous 4 Pool on the four-player map, Holy World, against Fantasy in the OSL semifinals. For further reading on this, check out Plexa's "Here to Stay" final edit on the matter.

- As Jaedong showed against Bisu in their game on Blue Storm, he doesn't need drones to win. Another amazing comeback against Stork in the WCG Grand Finals.

- When people bring up "epic ZvZ", the most commonly thought of games are those that have gone to Hive Tech. Zero vs. Type-b, Jaedong vs. Yellow, great vs. Hydra - but for me, this particular game has always stood out. There isn't anything particularly special or bizarre about the game, but it is a tense watch all the way through.

- The first match of the infamous power outage MSL. Taking a hint from Zero using the same build just a few days prior, Jaedong uses a 12 pool lair Mutalisk rush build, ending the first game decisively with his signature unit.

- "Terrans are so hard to kill nowadays" - Jaedong. A great back-and-forth Mech vs. Z slugfest in the MSL quarterfinals.

- At this point, Calm had been the only Zerg player ever to defeat Jaedong in a Bo5 ZvZ, beating him to advance to the finals of the Avalon MSL. Now, two seasons later, the two meet again in another MSL semifinal. Here, Jaedong reads his opponent's build perfectly and executes a daring 5 pool, predicting Calm's 12 hatchery on the macro-oriented Odd-Eye. The VOD flashes to Calm's FPVOD too, during his moment of panic.

- A one-sided beatdown. Sea never leaves his half of the map.

- Taken from what many JD fans might remember as the "TvZ imbalance" MSL, where Jaedong played against the three strongest TvZ players on the planet in consecutive Bo5s on T>Z favoured maps. In this semifinal game, Jaedong is down 2-1 against the Invisible Terran, and resorts to a gutsy mass Mutalisk build to take advantage of Triathlon's peculiar base layout. Three infested Command Centers later, Light taps out, forcing a 5th set.

- Nothing special to say about this, except that it is amazingly epic all the way through. Special bonus: the replay is available here, thanks to Ares[Effort]!

- What is the counter to 14CC? Well, when you're Jaedong, you can counter it with anything you want. In this case, it happens to be ALL YOUR DRONES. Like a boss.

- The conclusion to what many TLers would dub the greatest Bo5 of the 2010-11 season. Jaedong has been taken to the final set against the surprising PvZ prowess of CJ Protoss Snow, who took him apart in games 2 and 4 with meticulous Shuttle play.

Jaedong lays an all-kill on dangerous Samsung KHAN lineup, beating Reality, Stork, Turn and JvZing Great in a most exciting game of the night.

- After a year of losing finals to Flash, Jaedong destroys him with Lurkers in a strong showing, during their extremely stacked MSL Ro32 group.

- An exciting, back and forth game where the lead is exchanged multiple times.

- This is the famous 'Drone strike' game. Clearily Jaedong can give handicaps to Protoss players by making huge overlooks... and still win in the end.
