Q: You've succeeded in advancing to Code S. How do you feel?
A: I'm still a little shaken. I had gone for management games for the first three, so I had to swallow my pride in order to use an all-in in the final game. But if I lost the last game I would have fallen to Code A, and I had no choice but to use the all-in. So I played the game very worried. To be honest, I thought that Genius would have been able to stop it, but my vikings killed his void rays quickly so I was able to win.
Q: You were knocked out in the Round of 4 in Code A, was this a blow to your mental state?
A: Honestly, during that time I was winning a lot, so I thought that I would have to lose some time. That time was the Code A Round of 4. It was more of a shock than I thought it would be. But a day passed and I was able to forget about it, and then just waited for the Up and Downs. Curious is really good. I said that he had to pay for something, but his debt just increased (laughs).
Q: You were in a group with 3 Protoss and 1 Zerg.
A: I'm most confident in my TvT, but it was a group without any Terrans. Frankly during practice my TvT winrate is the best. There were no Terrans so I was worried, and my TvP is weak so I was really worried. I analyzed my opponent's styles a lot and chose builds that would match up well, so I was able to win.
Q: Which Protoss did you think was the most difficult?
A: To be honest, I thought they were all difficult. But if I had to pick one, it would be Puzzle. Because his method of play is really strong.
Q: FXO now has three players in Code S. Do you think it will have more?
A: I think Oz will not lose. His PvP is good, and his PvT is really good. It seems like Oz can advance. If Lucky can control his mental state he will be able to, and since the atmosphere is good lately I expect him to advance. Our team might have 5 Code S players next season.
Q: Your first Code S lies ahead of you. What is your goal?
A: To win. I'm most confident in my TvT and Code S has a lot of Terrans. It's really good. Practice will be easy and it's my most comfortable matchup.
Q: Code S Terrans are all really strong, aren't you worried?
A: Yes, so I want to play quickly. I want to experience how different it is. Since I can't show my skill 100% in practice, I want to meet in official games. The Terrans I want to meet most are those in the Round of 4 this season.
Q: Do you hope to be picked by one of the Round of 4 Terrans in the group selection ceremony?
A: I could get knocked out easily, but since my goal is to win I will have to meet them some time. So it wouldn't be bad even if they picked me. I think it won't be bad to have a difficult path starting from the Round of 32. If it's like that and I advance, then I will get a lot of confidence.
Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: I want to thank Crane and Weekend for practicing with me and coming with me to the studio. I want to thank Lucky and TeriousPrime for helping with TvZ. There's not much time left until the preliminaries, but Choya came to the studio with me today anyway, so I want to thank him. And I hope that everyone in our team can advance through the upcoming qualifiers.

Q: Thoughts on succeeding in staying in Code S?
A: I took this as a time similar to when I was practicing very hard for Code A. I practiced hard in Zenex, but after I transferred to Slayers the environment was really good so I was feeling a little spread out. I practiced hard again and got a good result so I'm happy.
Q: You got eliminated last season in the Round of 32.
A: It seemed like I only encountered builds that countered the builds I had prepared. Both my builds were matched up against well. My opponents were good but I didn't have any luck with builds. Protoss not being in a good state didn't have much to do with it. I was doing fine in practice (laughs).
Q: You've been receiving a lot of interest since you won Code A. Were you aware?
A: Up to WCG I was in the middle of a 6-game losing streak, but I looked at PlayXP Toto and quite a few people had put money on me. I saw that and felt a little more desire to win.
Q: What did you think when you saw today's group formation?
A: Practice was really difficult. I thought that PvT is demanding on Terminus, and luck is very important in PvP. My winrate against Terran on Terminus really wasn't good. I got really worried, but just practiced thinking that I absolutely had to win my PvPs.
Q: In the 10th game, you were in a situation where you would go to Code A if you lost, and the game wasn't easy.
A: I was really worried, and just before the 10th game I was told that if I won I went to Code S, and if I lost I went to Code A. And in the first half of the game I lost in terms of build matchup. I thought that I would lose again. There was only one way I could win, so I just tried to defend and it seems like I got lucky and was able to stop his attack well. Because the timing came just before colossus, I was able to protect my natural.
Q: It seems like a lot of Protoss fans could be happy next season.
A: I'm practicing really hard. I'm practicing like I did for the Code A finals. I wasn't doing that last season. I hope that Protoss fans will cheer for me a lot.
Q: How will you seize your goal for the next Code S season?
A: First, since I've made it to the Round of 16, I'd like to go to the Round of 8 once. I will decide my next goal after I make it to the Round of 8.
Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: Our team's Terrans and Zergs helped a lot. They really helped a lot in general. Our team's Protosses also helped a lot. There were also a lot of players on other teams I practiced with. There were so many that I can't name them all, so I'm sorry. I want to thank Coach Cella, who changed chairs in the studio for me. Boxer and Gayeon are returning from the United States now, and I always thank them. They're returning today, so it's a relief that they will return after a win. I hope that fans will cheer for me a lot in the future.
