That's a big entry fee.... too much for me There are other tourneys out there that are more affordable, gl with your tournament XD
Yeah not sure if 30$ entry fee fits everyones budget! :S GL regardless
This is gonna be great! I'll try to make it!
Early bird entry is $20. Referal u get $5 off every referal. Were not looking to take a profit. We are trying to grow the e-sports and make a name for ourselves.
We have pro caster coming in. With pros soon to be announced participating. Also live streaming the finals. So there's a lot to do especially without sponsers.
what a reasonable price for the tournament without sponsors and such a large prize pool? u guys just wanna play hours and hours to win a 100 dollars LOL?
not every one in Toronto play starcraft. SC players around Ontario who can afford the entry fee are mostly university students and have to pay travel fees themselves to go to big LAN events and such. 30 bucks means that we have to double all of our expense in the past O_O...
Great prize pool but i dont think most people play for money....
It's a thousand dollars in prize money...
30 isn't a lot of ask for a shot at it, couple of beers and burger? or sc2 turny. But I can understand the hesitation
but I will say the sweet spot is prob 10-15$ imho
if i was able to compete on the level of the people who would play, i would gladly pay 30

How do you think you'll get to that level? By staying at home until "you're ready"? Honestly if you care about being good you should take your beatings, thats how competitive gaming goes, you don't just enter a tourney and "get it" even the first place guy got his rapings at one point.
wow dont mind the trolls whining about 30 dollars sounds like a good time If everything goes well i will be there with bells on.
Is there a website for this?
Confirmed - coL.antimage Possibilities - Ryze, Ddoro, dde, ostojiy, Iefnaij Elaine Sun possibly casting
Please check our facebook - Starcraft2north
Even if you don't play come out, meet some pros, get some experience. Lets grow this e-sports in Canada.
Will be there with bells on gotta love having a tournament run 5 minutes walking distance from my house.
I assume spectators (with no intention of playing) are welcome? My bronze league friends I'm sure would love to come but will never pay 30 dollars to get rolled xP
i can pay the fee, but i'm imagining how much i can do with just $30 lol. i will try to make it because i am a big supporter of the Toronto SC2 community.
30$ is a big fee.
If it's only a tournament where the top 3 people win money, there should be compensation for all the participants. (Prizes and raffles were mentioned?) Compensation as in...t-shirt or something you know...just so people would WANT to pay even though they know they would not win.
Also your flyer on your facebook page says 30$ early bird and 40$ fee.
I suggest you lowering your prize pool if you do not have sponsors, because if you expect to make it up by ticket sales I think you will be sadly mistaken
...So I'll win this one for sure xD
Sieg.520, I'll be there.

Haha I know, I played a toronto-area BW tournament back in the day, and beat people up until I got to lose to JF, despite only being D+. It's an unwise investment because I don't really play SC2 competitively .
