(ESC) Edinburgh Starcraft Cup 26/02/2010

1. Registration
1.1 Must be 16 or older.

1.2 This is a Starcraft II 1v1 tournament.

1.3 You must have your own battle.net account with Starcraft 2.


2. Tournament

Format:

Double Group Stage into Bo3-Bo3-Bo5

8 x Groups of 4.

2.1 Tournament will start at 12 noon at Twitch on Saturday 26th February. Registration closes at 11:00.

2.2 The tournament is expected to last about 8 hours - but be prepared that if the matches run long you could be there until 10pm!

2.3 Open to the public - anyone can register!

2.4 You must register a minimum of 1 hour before the competition. However, there may not be spaces left on the day so registration in advance is recommended.

2.5 You must give us (the tournament staff) your friend code; this is kept private and will not be shared!

2.6 All matches are 1v1.

2.7 As more than one match will be running at the same time you must be available to play when requested. Please inform a member of staff when you are not going to be around.

2.8 Your matches may be broadcast on the internet - you must agree / consent to this

2.9 Group Stage Matches are best of 1 game. The Final will be a best of 5.

2.10 Players may not communicate with anyone else other than referee or twitch staff during a game, unless authorized.

2.11 Every player must arrive at Twitch a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the start of the tournament.

2.12 Every player has to use the equipment provided. Players can use their own headsets, mouse and keyboard. Equipment provided are Samsung Syncmaster 24" full HD, Logitech MX518 mouse, a very basic keyboard and the machines are based around Intel Core i5 CPU's, 4GB DDR3 and NVIDIA GTX460.


3. Gameplay

3.1 The tournament will be played using Battle.net.

3.2 The latest official Patch version will be used throughout the Event.

3.3 In the case of a Computer/Monitor malfunction, the Game will be restarted from the beginning.

3.4 No Pausing a Game without administrator's permission. If an issue arises that requires a Pause, Players should contact their administrator immediately. Breaking this rule will result in a Warning. If a Player receives a 2nd Warning they will forfeit their current Game.

3.5 Players who quit out of a Game before it has ended, without administrator's permission, will lose the Game.

3.6 If all Minerals on the Map have been consumed and no Units or Structures have been killed for 5 minutes, the Game will be replayed.

3.7 Each match after ro16 will be hosted by a member of Twitch.

3.8 The match is ready to start when both opponents are ready. If one of the players has temporary problems he has to report this instantly to the corresponding admin or the match will be forfeited.

3.9 Initial map is chosen by administration, loser picks from then on until the semi-finals where both players will eliminate 2 maps each from the map pool and the remaining maps will be chosen at random.


4. Settings

All Games will be played with the following settings

Category = Melee

Mode = 1v1

Game Speed = Faster


5. Coverage

5.1 Every game replay should be saved after game.

5.2 By participating in the tournament, every player agrees to the distribution of all tournament replays and to Twitch having rights to distribute them on their website.


6. Cheats & Barring

6.1 The use of cheats, map hacks or third-party tools is strictly forbidden and will result in an immediate disqualification from all current and future tournaments.

6.2 The tournament administration reserves the right to ban players from the tournament at their discretion, providing that sufficient reason is given.


7. Punishment

7.1 Inadequate behavior and delaying the tournament will be punished immediately.

7.2 Insults and unfair or disrespectful behavior towards referees and other tournament participants will not be tolerated and will be punished with immediate disqualification.

8. Disconnects

8.1 In the case of a disconnect in the first 4 minutes of the game, the match will be restarted. The players should involve a referee if the problem reoccurs frequently. For the rematch, players are required to choose the same races as in the initial match.

8.2 If a player disconnects beyond 4 minutes into the game, it is at the referee's discretion whether the match is replayed..

8.3 If the disconnected player obviously won the game, the replay must be uploaded to a referee. He will then decide whether there will be a rematch or not.


9. Referees

9.1 Players must adhere to the instructions of the referees.

9.2 Protests have to be reported to the referees only.

9.3 The tournament rules are subject to change or expansion by the organizers at any point. The responsible referees have the ability to change, modify, or reinterpret the rules at their own discretion.
