Xin Gaming's #2 ever LAN and #3 Starcraft 2 Tournament is here!
Though our #1 LAN ended up being extremely entertaining at the end it did start off slow due to technical difficulties. This time around we are holding it at Indus internet cafe on Harbour Town Docklands and have tested all machines/routers in order for the event to run as smooth as possible. With great prizes and only 64 spots be sure that you do not miss this event and reserve your spots early!

Fucking gay. Where are all the Adelaided tournies? xD

does the $20 bucks cover the time you play?
300+150+75+sponsored prizes is a lot less then 64*$20.

Actually 64 * $20 = $1280
and the total cash value of the prizes is ~$1550

This is correct. The cafe and Xin Gaming both lose on these events. We do it for the community.

I don't understand how you can lose on it. Surely the sponsors provide most of the hardware, and I don't see how that store credit is the store losing when there's an entry fee.

In a land where homophobes aren't granted entrance.

The cafe itself makes about $1800+ a day. We have reserved the whole cafe for the event not allowing in any walk ins until the event is over and have put $525 in prizes. From entry fees we only make $1280-$525 in prizes= $755. Plus all the Indus staff will need to be payed and Xin staff will be there doing it voluntarily...
You tell me how we're not at a loss?

I'd just assume he didn't take into account loss of revenue during the day.

Still, that $755 leaves say $1000 of revenue for the day lost though I am sure some of it will be made up before/after the event is over - net cafes being pretty popular at night time. I imagine they expect enough paying, long-term customers to come from those that turn up that they will make the money back or they probably wouldn't do it.
Xin volunteering is par for the course though! No bragging rights there haha.
