Winner: SKT1!

Sun: "I want to add a new colour to our team's Protoss line."
"I'm starting to get more comfortable in the matches."

(P)Sun won his first televised match, contributing to the team's victory.

On November the 10th, Sun defeated (Z)YellOw of Airforce ACE in the 1st set.

Q & A:

- First thoughts after winning your first televised match!
A: It's good~ I should have won my last match though, so I was a little disappointed.

- What did your teammates say after your recent loss to (P)Tyson?
A: They wanted to know why I didn't attack. I watched the VOD and I realized that I should have closed out the game when I held the advantage. I don't have a lot of experience in televised matches so my decision making was off - at that time, I didn't know whether I held an advantage or not.

- How was your game today against Yellow?
A: The coaching staff predicted that 'something' would come [T/N: a STORM is coming!], so they advised me to build a lot of photon cannons. Contrary to my previous game, I'm more satisfied with my microcontrol and gameplay as well. Overall, I'd say that it was much more comfortable. I suppose I'm starting to get more comfortable in the matches.

- There should be lots to learn from the two Protoss players in your team.
A: (P)Best helped me in all match-ups. (P)Bisu has been helping me from way back also.

- What are your future aspirations as a player?
A: I want to become a 'new' Protoss in the team. I want to develop with a different colour of gameplay than the older players (Best and Bisu). Best is great against Terran and Bisu crushes Zergs, so I want to become good at the mirror match-up.

- Last words?
A: In yesterday's practice, (Z)Hyuk used the build that Yellow used today. Therefore I want to thank him for the preparation. Thanks to the rest of the teammates as well~

DES bits (just translating parts I find are important):

"When people think of Bisu, they think of PvZ, and when people think of Best, they think of PvT. I'm going to hone my skills so that when people think of Sun, they'll think of PvP."

When Sun's opponent was found out to be Yellow, SKT1 coaching staff instructed Sun to brace himself against early aggression because they remembered how Yellow recently crushed Snow with early aggressive play. Despite gearing his practice towards PvP, Sun also had practice PvZ with the help of Hyuk. Sun efficiently defended his main and his backdoor expansion with photon cannons and earned his first win in televised matches.

"I was able to win today because of Coach (P)Doctor.K and Hyuk."

-----

Bisu: "I hope the winning streak continues for a long time."
"My focus will be on maintaining the current pace."

'Revolutionist' (P)Bisu recorded his 8th consecutive win and contributed to the team's victory.

On November the 10th, Bisu defeated (P)Rock of Airforce ACE in the 2nd set.

Q & A:

- Your winning streak continues. Thoughts?
A: Lady luck is on my side. I'm playing the way I want to play, and the opponents are also playing just the way I want them to play. Isn't that great?

- How was today's game?
A: I had a build order advantage. Plus, the opponent lost his dragoons rather easily, making my life easier. Once I gained an advantage, I held it for the rest of the match. To reiterate, successful defense against my opponent's early dragoon push was the biggest factor in today's victory.

- Now can you forget about the Airforce ACE nightmares?
A: Never! (laughs) When Airforce ACE first entered the proleague, I lost the 4th set and the ace match in the first match against them. After that, I also lost against Yellow [T/N: on HBR. go find this VOD if you haven't watched it yet!]. How can I forget that? I end up preparing extra hard when we face ACE. I don't want to lose anymore, and I don't want to lose to surprise builds either.

- What are your thoughts about Sun's first win?
A: It's my pleasure to see him earn his first win, not so long after his debut. He's an amazing player in practice matches also. I suppose my shoulders are little lighter now, I hope he continues to develop his skills... but he should learn to finish his matches when he can (laughs). That's sort of his trademark.

- Next opponent is STX.
A: The more I think about it, the deeper their lineup is. There is no particular weak player in their lineup, but I will try my best to win against whoever I play.

- How many wins do you want this season?
A: I already set my season goal as 30 wins. At this pace, I going to reach that goal rather soon, which I don't really mind. What I don't want is to let myself indulge in the wins so far and end up losing focus.

- Last words?
A: My confidence has risen significantly lately. I'll focus on maintaining the current confidence and pace.

DES bits:

When Bisu hears the words "Airforce ACE," his heartbeat jumps a little. Back when Bisu was part of MBCGame, he was the sacrificial lamb in the first victory of the newly founded Airforce ACE. He lost to (T)ChRh in set 4 and (T)BoxeR in set 5 that time. His wounds worsened after losing to Yellow's drop play last season.

"I prepare twice as hard against Airforce ACE. I simply cannot forget the pain of getting beaten up so severely. I practice until my eyes are red because I don't want to feel that pain again."

As a result of defeating Rock, Bisu is now 8-for-8. He mentioned that he wanted to achieve his initial goal of 30 wins a little earlier than he had planned.

"I remember that I was 1 win behind Flash and Jaedong in the 08-09 season. I will make this my best season by beating both of them (in terms of wins)."

-----

n.die_soO: "I couldn't really let off the pressure, but I'm glad I won."
"Win #3 (after going 2W1L) was an important turning point."

(Z)n.Die_soO of SKT1 recorded his 5th win this season.

On November the 10th, n.die_soO defeated (Z)ggaemo of Airforce ACE in the 4th set.

Q & A:

- 5 straight wins after the 1 loss. Thoughts?
A: I can't really let go the pressure of maintaining the winning streak, so I'm glad I won today.

- In prior seasons you couldn't escape a 50% winning percentage.
A: The biggest challenge was my 4th match [when I had a record of 2W1L]. If I lost that one, I would have fell back to .500, but winning that match pushed me forward.

- (Z)Kwanro hasn't played lately...
A: He did well in the early matches. Currently he's in the process of restoring his confidence after his losses, and he'll be back soon!

- ggaemo's nickname is 'Military Jaedong,' how was your game against him?
A: Personally, based on his recent games, he's the scariest player in ACE. Still, when the game started, I reminded myself that he's just a Zerg like me and played like my usual.

- When were you sure of your victory?
A: When the initial zergling push arrived at my natural, I wasn't sure whether he went for zergling movement speed upgrade or lair first. Then, I remembered that ggaemo went for lair first last time [T/N: these guys played recently before?], so I assumed that he wouldn't go for the same build this time. I played safe accordingly.

- What's different this season compared to the last one?
A: Coach Cha joined the team and has helped a lot of players. As I mentioned last time in the interview, I have a decent winning percentage in the practice matches and that's translating into confidence.

- Last words?
A: Hyuk is always helpful to me. His record may not be impressive right now, but he's the main reason I'm winning lately.

DES bits:

n.die_soO credits his win to the coaching staff and Hyuk.

When he's selected in the lineup for the upcoming match, Coach Cha mentors him 1-on-1 and helps him improve his game as a whole, while the team's captain Hyuk sits beside him and fine-tunes his microcontrol.

Fantasy: "Our team is just so strong!"
"Victories can really change people."

'Terrorist' (T)Fantasy won for the 4th time this season and sealed the team's victory.
On November 10th, Fantasy defeated (P)M18M of Airforce ACE in the 5th set.

Q & A:

- Your thoughts on the team's amazing 7-0 record
A: I'm quite amazed myself at the record and at our team's strength as well. Our team is just so strong. Now that our rookies are winning televised matches, we're stronger than ever before.

- Did you see your opponent's proxy gateways?
A: Luckily, I saw them while building the refinery, so I reacted accordingly and won the match easily. Even if I didn't see them that early, I would have defended by building a bunker. I already practiced against such builds in a 2-player map and I know how to defend it.

- You even saw the proxy robotics facility with your floating barracks
A: With my scouting SCV, I noticed that my opponent didn't have the number of pylons he should have had by that point. I immediately concluded that he'd have another proxy building somewhere and guessed for either 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock.

- Next opponent is STX
A: STX is a strong team too. That's ok, because I'm rather good against STX, and I've damaged them a lot last season in the STX Masters Cup Finals and in the playoffs. If I'm sent out, I will win.

- Are you relieved to end your losing streak?
A: I didn't have any confidence during the losing streak, and because of that, I didn't play aggressively at all. Now that's all gone, and I've got my confidence back. Honestly, victories can really change people.

- Last words?
A: OSL games are coming up in 2 days; I will do my best to advance.

DES bits:

"When I focused on not losing, I ended up losing. When I focused on winning, I won! The positive mindset is what changed my gameplay."

Fantasy's goal this season was 50 wins. After achieving 40 wins in the previous season, he thought that setting his goal at 50 would be reasonable due to the increase of sets-per-match to 7 and the addition of another round of winner-moves-on format.

A wise man said, greed will enslave us all. [T/N: well this is rather hard to translate, plus I remember that quote from Rush Hour 2! I think it's close enough.] Fantasy fell in a slump, and all he could do is watch his teammates' success from the bench. His mindset was that he needed to not lose in order to reach 50 goals - this kind of negative approach caused his abilities to drop and mount even more pressure on him.

"Even when I practiced sufficiently and prepared optimal strategies, I ended up losing. So I changed my mindset. I told myself that I will win because I've earned it already with my practice efforts and such. It worked like magic."

"I'm consciously trying to throw away any passive and conservative tendencies so that I can play to my strengths and be aggressive. The new positive mindset is making me play better, and I will show everyone my improved gameplay in the upcoming OSL matches."

use the DES interview for Fantasy -- the Fomos one really is just boring, but the DES one is rather interesting

Thanks for the translation mate.

"I prepare twice as hard against Airforce ACE. I simply cannot forget the pain of getting beaten up so severely. I practice until my eyes are red because I don't want to feel that pain again."

Good attitude. Recently I haven't felt that Bisu wanted it as much as JD and Flash, so this is a good sign I think.

"I remember that I was 1 win behind Flash and Jaedong in the 08-09 season. I will make this my best season by beating both of them (in terms of wins)."

I'm not sure he really believes this, but again I like the attitude. Personally I don't think Bisu's capable of achieving this atm, but I'd love him to prove me wrong.

n.die_soO credits his win to the coaching staff and Hyuk.

I hope Hyuk's lot in life hasn't been reduced to this now, but with the rise of soO and s2, and the arrival of Kwanro, well it doesn't look good for the Captain.

A: STX is a strong team too. That's ok, because I'm rather good against STX, and I've damaged them a lot last season in the STX Masters Cup Finals and in the playoffs. If I'm sent out, I will win.

SKT took ACE very seriously indeed. Besides Sun, they put down their four strongest players. Also, they succeeded in putting up good matchups for their players, sniping Yellow (according to the interview), Firebathero (lol), ggaemo (he's weak in zvz) and M18M (Fantasy tvp >_>). Rock is just... Let's just say that he's got a lot of work to do.

It's nice to see that SKT's policy of developing youngsters is now paying off outside of the zerg line. Sun took an important win here against a dangerous opponent.
