Dear Gamers,
After a bad mixup with the timings, and alot of disappointed gamers. I'd like to apologise once again for what has happened.
We did not realise that the time would be such a problem as we were looking at our local time (The time displayed by the TL timezone) in order to make our decisions.
With things being such a mess, the brackets ended up being 1 player walking through to the semi finals. So, as the show had to go on, we create new brackets with all players who were ACTIVE in the chatroom and found 64 players. There were alot of AFKers in the chat room understandably, but trying to get as many games played as possible, I had to miss them. And they were disappointed understandably. I apologise sincerely.
What are we going to do?
Well, over the holiday period we will be working intensively to get our own site and automatic tournament management system set up where players will be repsonsible for reporting games, and administration will simply enforce rules. This will make everything run as smooth as the 2nd brackets did without any issues.
On top of that, our website will DISPLAY a count down timer for every tournament, as well as the streams for every event.
On top of this, FXOpen will be looking to recruit players into its team that are not inside russia (we already have a russian team) and are looking strongly at the SEA and south american countries for players. Note that due to forex regulation, we cannot sponsor an entire team from the US, although specific players from the US may happen.
Our next tournament will kick off somewhere towards the end of January, early february, so we have time to sort out any hiccups, and fix the problems that occured with this event. This event, is most probably invite only, and will consist of players around the world. We may throw out a few wild card spots with a public vote of players, or a panel. And work on a relegation system to allow new players to circulate as they improve.
I have not black listed anyone from this event, except 1 person who was extremely offensive and incoherrent. This player make a disgusting attack on myself and various other people. They know who they are.
Again I apologise for the mix up.
On another note, as sheth has so kindly posted the fxopen2 brackets, we are now heading into the final of the event (The show must go on). Sheth is up against optikzero in the semi final, and the winner will take on Capoch in the grand final (play off for $1000).
We have seen extremely exciting games from Optikzero so far, as with Sheth. And Capoch has taken down 2 big SEA names to get to his position, Moonglade and Edge.
We will be streaming replays of the finals at 3pm AEST, 12pm Singapore, 7am Moscow, 11pm NEW YORK.
Our good friends at sc2tv.ru will also be streaming those replays for all to see.
I would like to make a big shout out to optikzero and darkcell_ who are the most patient gamers I have ever met. Although there were alot of patient gamers, I think optikzero waited a very long time for his first game because of no shows, and darkcell the same + a stuff up also made him have to wait even longer. These guys are true gamers and have shown excellent ettiquette and patience.
Also, thank you to SiF and Unstable for casting the event, and sc2tv.ru as well for their excellent support.
Regards,

If you play your game prior to the 27th of November, please email the result + replay to manager@fxoceania.com to confirmation. It is not compulsory to play your preliminaries before the 27th, however it would be best that as many of these games are played as possible in order to have a smoother event.
Please note, we seeded 32 players, some of them randomly, the others based on reputation and location (we seeded some of the TOP SEA players NA players, etc). Note that this is the first of many tournaments to come, and future seeding will be based on past results for all events (even live events).

You must log in to chat to report all games/problems to the administrators. If you do not report them, the results will not count.
If you cannot find your opponent, its likely you will find them in chat. If you are in chat and they do not show up in 15 minutes after start time, they will forfeit.
Also be aware that an admin may request to stream your game. Tournament rules state that FXOpen holds the rights to stream any game they wish.
Please note, if you wish to participate in the creative strategy prize, you must send your replays to manager@fxoceania.com with the subject “MOST CREATIVE” you MUST WIN your match in order to be eligible. You may nominate an opponent if you see fit.

FAQ
Q: im EXTREMELY curious why a forex broker is interested in e-sports. could anybody shed any light onto this?

I am happy to shed light on this for you mate.
Our company currently sponsors MMA, a drift car series (fxdrift.com) and various other sporting events.
Of late, myself, and another senior member of staff have realised we have a passion for sc2, and that there is a hole in the industry.
It is merely a new business on the side of another business.
I hope this helps your curiosity.

Hello SC2ers,
Its great to support such a great event merging the SEA and NA players.
Let me introduce myself, I am Josh, long time player but I suck. I am the managing director of one of the FXOpen branches.
Questions regarding the date. I apologise that it mixes up with another tournament, however, due to time constraints and potential conflicts with major sc2 events, we felt this was the most appropriate date for the event.
If you get a chance, feel free to take a look at our website, 2bh's website.
I'd like to say a huge thanks to Unstable for helping me organise this event. And thank you to 2bh for helping with ideas and being part of the map panel and creative win panel.
Let it be known that this is not a one off event for us. We are looking at taking things all the way.
We have invited a few professional teams to watch our streams of this event in the hope of creating a new environment for western gamers (Australia in particular). I won't name names. But just know they will be there.
I will be organising the event on the day/s and helping conduct interviews with random gamers.
I request that anyone approached by tournament admin to do some media, take up the opportunity. Its always fun to get your name out there and would be a great help in reaching our goals.
If you have any questions for myself or regarding the event please feel free to send me a pm.
See you all on the day.
Regards,
The Team of FXOpen.
