Based on HopeTorture -IntoTheRainbow- recent sucess on the GomTV GSL Season 1, and because im sure most of you already seen / heard plenty about his opponent (oGsCool / TSLCool / A Fruit Dealer / FruitSeller / FruitVendor) on replays and VOD's, but not as much about HopeTorture -IntoTheRainbow-
, my intention is to present you guys with a fairly simple insight to who the former BroodWar pro RainBOw is and how hes being doing since Starcraft 2 came out.
Source: Liquipedia Starcraft -> "...There is no one in progaming who has influenced the scene more without winning a single major title in his career than Kim Sung Jae. Sung Jae is mostly known for his Reaver play which has become standard for effective use of the unit. Sung Jae started out in the progaming world as the protégé of veteran Im Sung Choon (IntoTheRain). In many ways, his time as an understudy had a large influence on the unique style of his own gameplay. Sung Choon's popular spell usage of the protoss race is still reflected today in Sung Jae's very own spell usage, in particular the use of the High Templar psi storm
RainBOw Highlights

Once he defeated Seo Ji Hoon (XellOs) after his win in Jeju island, Sung Jae looked to become one of the great protosses, like his predecessor Im Sung Choon (IntoTheRain). He went 2-1 in the group stages of NHN Hangame OSL including a notable victory over Lee Yoon Yeol (Nada) and looked to be on fire. However, he was denied entry into the round of 8 in the tiebreak round - losing 0-2. Sung Jae followed up his starleague performance by qualifying for Gillete OSL. In the group stages, he once again beat Lee Yoon Yeol (Nada) but went 1-2 overall..."

Source: Liquipedia Starcraft 2 -> "...Kim Sung Je is a Starcraft 2 player from South Korea. Known as RainBOw in SC:BW, he was regarded as one of the most influential players in the community who did not win one of the major tournaments. In Brood War he played Protoss, and his Reaver play became the standard for effective use of that unit
In the Starcraft 2 Beta, IntoTheRainbow has switched to Terran as his primary race. He joined the new pro-house oGs., along with fellow Koreans Tester, Cool, and Zenio.
He has gained prominence outside of Korea after receiving an invitation to Day9s King of the Beta, along with teammate Tester. In that tournament, he has displayed great crisis management and relentlessly aggressive play..."

And now, under the name "HopeTorture", aka, IntoTheRaibow he reaches the GomTV GSL finals on its first Season aiming to increase his reputation and add his name to Starcraft 2 history, just like he did to BroodWar in the past.
Obviously both finalists from this Season 1 GomTV GSL already met in several occasions having this faceoffs originated quite exciting matchups. I'll leave you here with matches recently played by "HopeTorture", aka, "IntoTheRaibow", including one against Cool / A Fruit Dealer:

Hoping for this brief insight to be helpfull at least for the most recent Starcraft 2 fans i would like to finish by thanking Team Liquid "Liquipedia" for all the great information provided and to scbwvodsZocKa, wifebeater232, jmjang and day9tv for the videos provided
IntoTheRainbow was always one of my favourite players of all time. He use to do reavers every fucking game, his opponent would mass turrets, expect it. Rainbow would still manage to get 20 kills on his reaver always!
Add this to the first post! one of my favourite players. One of the most inspiring players for the protoss race!

Just added the video to the first post, thank you for the help.

I too hope to win tournaments full of bad players.

Thanks for the massive spoiler.
If you don't want to be spoiled you shouldn't even visit a site that likely has spoilers. And if you decide to visit, you sure as hell shouldn't click a thread that is about one of the semifinalist.

Ban this troll please.
to be honest he's right, but at the same time this is the first biggest korean sc2 tournament and BW has really spoiled us to the fact we have to expect really good matches from the Ro8 onwards.
again its only the first and for a lot of Korean players this is the first time they are being telecasted internationally.but seeing as how the finals has some good old BW vets I doubt we'd see some bad plays from either of them since its less likely that they'll choke.

This is just a stupid thing to say. Threads which contain spoilers are supposed to say so in the thread topic. I thought it was just a biography or some kind of semi-final preview. Imagine my disappointment when it told me he actually won the semi-final match.

Yeah, I mean this is a nice thread and all about ITR but just seeing the title I knew immediately why the thread was made even without reading. Same thing happened with the other semi-finals winner. Wish I had time to keep up on the vods so I wouldn't have every meaningful game spoiled by thread titles about so-and-sos build, or talking about how much of a badass they are.
Maybe I just need to find something else to browse on my blackberry between classes and not visit tl.net ever during a tournament anymore. But with gsl going on constantly that's a bit unreasonable.
Oh well, I don't get overly mad about spoilers, but seemingly obscure biographical threads out of nowhere like this one is pretty much a spoiler just by seeing the thread being made the day after a big match like a ro4.

I don't miss sports games because they occur in my timezone, not on the OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD. I like to wake up in the morning by reading news, and then sometimes reading some TL. I pay money so that I can see these matches on a pre-recorded delay, without knowing the winner in advance.
This guy breaks forum etiquette rules and divulges the winner, making my investment kind of pointless, and you want to get on MY case for complaining about it? Get the fuck out kid.
