The History
So I'm remaking this thread because there was a shockingly high response to a blog of Megalisk's that got bumped which talked about A&M Starcraft, I got a lot of PM's regarding TAMU and our SC/SC2 scene, so this should clarify things for you guys.
When the first CSL started almost a year ago (omg its been only a year since then??? WUH) I decided to create a team for A&M. At the time we looked like this

We have since lost jw232 and picked up our friend CakeOr|)eath (i think thats how you spell it). We also play with a very gosu Korean by the name of SexyMedic but he never wants to hang out ;_;
Also this past CSL Season we were able to make it to the playoffs for the first time to compete for the title of #1 SC TEAM IN USA WOOOO!!! We didn't actually win but hey we did pretty fucking good ^_^
Anyway, we are more than just a CSL team, we're all really good friends. The 5 of us lan'd every weekend for like 2 months during the spring semester and would stay up drinking Mt Dew, eating Hot n Ready's and goldfish, playing Starcraft and watching Pro BW.
What's Happening Now
So if you want to be involved with us you have two choices:
1) You want to play for the CSL Team
Awesome! Realize this is a commitment. Everyone who joins the team will get to the chance to practice with old BW veterans, the whole current team is Diamond division, but I'm sure with practice ANY of you who aren't could get to that level. SC2 is very easy ^_^
So if you'd like to join the team please post the following information in this thread
- Bnet ID with idenifier
- Race
- Current Division and approximate points
- Texas A&M Email (to avoid bots type it like mOnion at gmail dot com)
And I will get back to you with details on when the Season starts, and what we're going to do ^_^
2) You just want to go to hangouts/LANs
Also very cool! Not everyone takes SC as seriously as I do, which is totally cool! We'll still be organizing frequent LANs and hanging out to watch big tournaments like MLG and stuff.
So if you don't want to be competitive but still want to hang out just
- Post in this thread "just for LANs/hangouts/whatever
- An email you can be reached at (again, to avoid bots, post like mOnion at gmail dot com)
And I will add you to the LAN email list and let you know when something's going down.
Finally
The annoying thing is that with SC2 being the biggest thing right now, no one is really going to want to play any BW. Besides the fact there is literally no LAN support, even if there were support, no one has a laptop that can run this game, so getting together to hang out is really difficult.
Hopefully we can figure something out like raiding the SCC and installing SC2 on the computers and playing there or something like that, but until I figure out how to organize something like that most of our hangout's will be to watch live events or play a lil old school BW
So ya! I'm really excited about this year and shocked at how many people were interested in this so hopefully we'll all get to hang out and be fuckin nerdy together!
