MorroW deep in thought after going 1-0 up against Idra
Liquipedia is more than just a strategy resource, it also houses information for many tournaments both community and professional as well as biographies for top level players in the scene. Perhaps you don't feel like you can contribute sound strategy advice, well maybe you can contribute something factual in this area instead? In this post we're going to show you what a good player profile and a good tournament page looks like. Since the massively successful IEM has just concluded, it only seemed appropriate to feature the Biography of MorroW and the tournament page of the IEM.
Keep in mind that the IEM page was being constantly updated as the tournament progressed. Thus if you want to see how a tournament is progressing without the hassle of clicking through the forums, you can always check the relevant Liquipedia page.

As with any good Liquipedia page, you will be greeted by a simple overview of the page at the top. Here you can see that the IEM page gives a quick outline of what the tournament was about, how significant it was, and who was casting it. There is also a quick outline of the final results. The final results can also be found in...
![[image loading]](/staff/Plexa/Liquipedia/IEM2.png)
The ever so useful information box! Which is located immediately to the right of the page. This box gives you a quick summary of all the details about the tournament - such as who won (that's immediately below where I cut the picture!), what maps were used, where the event was held, who was organizing it, what the race distribution was etc. It's very quick way to get up to speed with the basic facts of the tournament.

As you continue reading the page will go over all the necessary pieces of information. This includes the qualification structure, how players got to where they are, the format of the tournament, the prize distribution, the final player list etc. Pictured above is just the player table for the tournament, one of the many pieces of information you will find as you read on.

Reading further will bring you to the results for the tournament. Picture above is the results from Groups A and B in a nice pretty table. Liquipedia is an easy way to format many pieces of tournament data, as this shows, since you are able to pack in a lot of stuff into those tables.
![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/Plexa/Liquipedia/IEM5.png)
Not satisfied with just raw results? Neither is Liquipedia! Each Group has a brief summary of what went down. This way you can stay up to date with the event without having to dedicate the time to watching the games, although we know you will probably end up watching them anyway! (Of course, Liquipedia has the links for the VODs listed in the references section of the article)

No page would be complete without a nice pretty bracket to summarize the happenings of the elimination stage of the tournament. There are tutorials on Liquipedia for creating these bad boys, so if you see a tournament without one - feel free to add it!
So be sure to check out the IEM Page in full since there is a lot more information on the page than what we've screenshotted above. Give it a go, you might be surprised at how in depth Liquipedia really is!

Of course, if we are writing about tournaments then we're going to have articles on the players in those tournaments as well! Here is an example of a good players page.
![[image loading]](/staff/Plexa/Liquipedia/morrow1.png)
As before, you have your overview paragraph outlining why you should care about this player. And to the right of this we have...
![[image loading]](/staff/Plexa/Liquipedia/morrow2.png)
The information box! This time containing a picture of MorroW (above what I've cropped in the picture) and plenty of background information on him. Such as, his brithday, race and team history.
![[image loading]](/staff/Plexa/Liquipedia/morrow3.png)
If you continue to read, you come up to MorroW's biography. This gives a pretty concise summary of his career to date. Pictured is the brief paragraph about his SC:BW career, below that are the details about his SC2 career (you'll have to visit the page to see that!). Underneath the biography comes more detailed accounts of his career during the Beta and since the retail version was released.

This is an excerpt from his Wings of Liberty biography.

MorroW has been a really successful player so far, and thus has racked up quite a few achievements so far. Liquipedia provides you with a complete list of major accomplishments for every player in a convenient table format, as displayed above.

And last but not least, the article caps off with enough interesting links about MorroW to bring you fully up to date with the player. Such links include interviews, vods and replays. Below that is a list of all the references made in the article, which provide even more background to MorroW.
So there you have it, Liquipedia is not just an awesome strategy resource - it's a progaming resource as well. So if progaming is your thing, then get on the pedia and start contributing! Anyone can edit a Liquipedia page, that's the beauty of mediawiki, so every little contribution counts. The articles presented to you today are not perfect, they can be improved - but they need YOU to improve them!
