Ok about 3 years ago i noticed a rather severe ringing in the ears, sense that day it has consumed almost every moment of my life.
It has destroyed a relationship becuase im apathetic and angry now

I havent been able to sleep unaided in... forever.
It creates alot of stress im redline all day, and stress takes a huge toll on you believe me, i feel like shit.
And basically im just taking a shot in the dark wondering if anyone with a similar problem or just some knowledge i dont have has some sort of relief.
Anything at all really, Doctors offer nothing but sucking my bank account dry

Help?

When no other music/sound is playing i just hear a decently high pitch. Try listening to music while going to bed to see if you don't need sleep pills.

Leave the TV on while you sleep or something. It's probably tinnitus.

I have it too. It's called tinnitus man. The ringing gets louder the less noise that there is. And it becomes unnoticable when I'm really focused on something. Mine sound like crickets, except its a steady pitch.

will never go away. had it for a decade, doesn't even bother me anymore. Mine's just a very high pitched constant tone though, I guess it could be worse

EDIT: tinnitus is a good reason to avoid blasting music at max volume. I hate it when I am riding in some jerk's car and her radio is blaring. She'll turn it down for a bit but then a song she likes comes on and VOLUME++++. So fucking rude. I'd prefer it if my tinnitus didn't get worse. Better to not get it in the first place

My father also has this and doctors tell him there nothing they can do. Just have to learn to live with it I guess.

I heard of a form of therapy where they play the ringing pitch at you in a sound booth and eventually train your brain to automatically tune it out. Definitely something done by an Audiologist though. You sure doctors can't help you? Last I heard this form of therapy was being touted as an outright cure for your problem.

I've had ringing in my ear for over a year now. The doctor just said it's probably middle ear problem. I had surgery on my ears and that didn't help. I use little white noise thing i bought at walmart to sleep.

Sometime i can just ignore it and it almost seems to go away. I can't believe the ringing isn't white noise to you after 3 years.

uhhhh...I had a calcium defiency when i was born so i have yellowish teeth that i cant do anything about. I also couldent afford braces as a child and still dont have them. So i got bad teeth 2

And if you had small ears and ringing in the penis you'd probably have super model girlfriends.

OP, do you know if the ringing in your ears has a physical or neurological cause btw? My doctor recently recommended me a neurologist and I'm going to go see him soon. He told me that I could take medication to lessen the noise. But if it has too many side effects then I'll just live with it. It is pretty damn annoying.

I've had high pitched ringing in my ears for as long as I can remember. It isn't very consistent though and usually only hear it whens it's quiet and I'm not focused on anything like when I'm sitting on the toilet. It isn't very loud and I don't notice it very often so I guess that's why it doesn't bother me at all. I never knew other people had this but it isn't something I have ever thought about much.
