As everyone may know by now, the MX-series (MX300 anyway) and the slick side of the Steelpad 4D plastic mousepad, do not work very well together.
I finally solved it
The trick to get them to work together is to make the slick side "dirty" enough to make the mx mouse identify the surface.
I did it by smearing my hand all over the surface, then spraying it lightly with hair spray, then taking the rough side of a damp washsponge and scrubbing the sticky hairspray away.
Now there is a thin layer of non-sticky hair spray covering the filth from my hand
Anyone came up with another solution? I'd really like to know. Go go bw BNet Europe!

solution: buy a different mousepad for 50cents.

I used to do that, thought it would be interesting to find out how a more expensive mousepade felt.

My everglide + cheapo skatez = win Doesn't require excessive use of hairproducts either

um. i use the cheapest mouse pad possible and it works great even with non-mx logitech mice. owned.

Is Steelpad 4D a mouse pad? Why not just use a cheap mousepad that u can get at ur local comp. store for like $1? =/

Wow, I have to agree that this is kinda a sad topic. BUt I'm glad that you're excited about this discovery.

Yeah, I finally got a new mousepad after 6 years, and I decided to go with a FuncPad, and I can REALLY tell a difference, I'm very pleased with it.

Seriously, i use MX300 and a normal "got with the computer" mousepad, works fine... then again, can't really compare it with anything --;

Dude both of my cheap mouse pads are fine. I saw the point in getting a more expensive keyboard and mouse and did so. But spending 25$ on a mouspad WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?????!!?! My MX300 didn't cost me that much.
