Q: How do you feel about getting 3 kills and finishing at 1st place?
A: I’ve never played such a dramatic match. Everything was to be decided by today’s match and I’m happy that I was able to 3-kill on a day like this and make the team advance to the finals.
Q: Was the last game the hardest for you?
A: I think my game against
Sea was the hardest. I was already warmed up for my game against Light and our build order differed severely, so I started with an immense advantage. However, my game against Sea wasn’t easy. First, I had to use a lot of stamina due to the length of the game. I think MBC players dragged the game long on purpose to lower my endurance. It was a predictable plan from our side. Sacrificing yourself so that the player after you can play more easily is a good strategy.Q: You saw through Light’s strategy 3 times in a row
A: I prepared a 14CC today after scouting. It’s only possible in 2-player maps, and I started with a huge advantage after seeing his Barracks. When I saw his main, there were only 2 Marines. I went to 11 o’clock then straight to 6 o’clock and luckily found the Factories. The SCV that was building the Factory had disappeared, so I looked for a Starport and found that as well. I thought it was 1 Fact 1 Star, but it was 2 Star. I didn’t see that it was 2 Starports, but I was already ahead and was able to block well and end the game.
Q: You broke through 40 wins
A: I was the first one to achieve 40 wins, and I was able to widen the gap from by beating the player with the 2nd most wins. I think there is about 8-win difference and because Winner’s League ended, I’ll secure my spot as the leader and be the first one ever to get the most wins for 3 straight seasons.
Q: You can probably rest well because you advanced to the finals
A: Honestly, I wanted us to be the 1st place for the sakes of the vacation. We already had secured a short break from securing 2nd place, but my manager said that if we can be 1st, he will give us an extra day so I practiced as if it were a life or death matter (laughs). I’m tired these days from a lot of dental problems. I’ve been getting a lot of stress from that so I was just thinking to somehow manage through the Winner’s League, and that worked out well. I’ll rest up for the 1 week that we got, and start practicing again after my dental works.
Q: Your team leaves for workshop tomorrow
A: It’s been a while. I want us to have a good time resting and increasing teamwork. For this workshop, I really want to forget about gaming and have a blast and rest up.
Q: Are you disappointed that you only got 1 all-kill this season
A: Although I only got 1 all-kill, I have done a lot 2-3 kills so I’m satisfied. Rather than worrying about all-kill, I want to focus more on securing the most win award.
Q: Who do you expect to face in the finals?
A: I want to play against MBC. I practiced a lot of TvT for today. I practiced about 80 TvTs in 3 days and hardly lost any. The only time I've lost during practice is today to
fOrGG prior to the match. I’m really confident in my TvT so I want to play against MBC again.Q: Anything else?
A: First, I left my ruler at KT, but my coach ran and bought me one quickly. I really thank him. Also, we were put into danger after getting all-killed by Hite last time, but I hope our fans stop worrying about us and watch us comfortably. I don’t know about everyone else, but I want our fans to just enjoy without worrying. We’ll prepare hard until the finals and try our best to take the victory.

- 마지막 3킬을 기록하며 팀을 1위로 이끈 소감은
▲ 이렇게 드라마 같은 게임은 오랜만에 해본 것 같다. 모든 것이 한 경기로 결정되는 날이었는데 오늘 같은 날 3킬을 기록하고 팀이 결승에 진출해서 너무너무 기쁘다.
- 마지막 경기가 가장 힘들었는지
▲ 그 경기보다는 염보성 선수와의 경기가 더 힘들었다. 이재호 선수와의 경기는 이미 손이 풀렸고 빌드에서 갈려서 쉽게 경기를 했다. 하지만 염보성 선수와의 경기는 쉽지 않았다. 일단 장기전을 가면서 체력 소모에 문제가 있었다. MBC게임 선수들이 경기를 일부러 길게 끌면서 상대의 체력을 떨어뜨리는 작전을 쓰는 것 같았다. 우리 팀 입장에서는 생각해볼 만한 작전인 것 같다. 자신이 희생하면서 다음 선수가 좀 더 쉽게 경기를 풀게 할 수 있는 좋은 작전인 것 같다.
- 이재호와의 경기에서 상대 전략을 세 번 연속 파악했는데
▲ 일단 오늘 빌드는 정찰 후 노배럭 더블 커맨드를 준비했다. 2인용 맵에서만 가능한 빌드인데 배럭을 발견하면서 엄청 유리하게 출발했다. 그런데 상대 본진을 가보니 마린 2기만 있고 아무것도 없더라. 그래서 11시를 들러서 6시로 갔더니 팩토리를 운 좋게 발견했다. 이후에 팩토리를 짓던 SCV가 사라져서 찾아보니 스타포트까지 있었다. 원래 1팩 1스타포트인 줄 알았는데 2스타포트더라. 2스타포트인 것은 보지 못해서 몰랐지만 이미 상황이 유리했고, 그 덕분에 잘 막고 경기를 끝낼 수 있었다.
- 오늘 3킬로 40승 고지도 돌파했는데
▲ 처음으로 40승을 했고, 다승 2위 선수를 이기면서 격차도 더욱 벌렸다. 현재 8승 정도 격차가 나는 것으로 알고 있는데 위너스 리그도 끝났기 때문에 선두 자리를 끝까지 지켜서 최초로 3시즌 연속 다승왕을 달성해보고 싶다.
- 결승 직행 덕분에 여유 있게 쉴 수 있을 것 같은데
▲ 사실 휴가 때문에라도 1위를 하고 싶었다. 2위를 확보했기 때문에 휴가가 정해지긴 했지만 만약 1위로 결승에 직행하면 휴가를 하루 더 주신다고 해서 휴가에 목숨을 걸 정도로 열심히 했다(웃음). 최근에 이 치료에 때문에 많이 피곤하고 힘들었다. 그것 때문에 너무 힘들고 스트레스도 받아서 위너스 리그만 잘 넘기자는 생각을 했는데 잘 맞아 떨어졌다.
일단 1주일 정도는 휴가를 맞아 쉬고 이 치료도 받고 난 이후에 본격적으로 결승전을 준비하겠다.
- 내일 워크숍을 떠나는데
▲ 오랜만에 팀원들과 워크숍을 가는 것 같다. 휴식도 취하고 재미있게 놀면서 팀워크도 다졌으면 좋겠다. 그리고 이번 워크숍만큼은 게임을 모두 잊고 정말 재미있게 놀고 쉬다가 오고 싶다.
- 이번 시즌 올킬이 1번이라 아쉽진 않은지
▲ 올킬이 1번뿐이긴 하지만 3킬과 2킬을 자주 했기 때문에 만족한다. 올킬이라는 이름보다는 다승 1위를 자키기 위해 더 집중하고 있다.
- 결승전 파트너로 어느 팀을 기대하는지
▲ 나는 개인적으로 MBC게임과 맞붙고 싶다. 오늘 경기를 준비하면서 테테전을 정말 많이 했다. 3일 동안에 80경기 정도 연습을 한 것 같은데 거의 지지 않았다. 오늘 경기장에 오기 직전에 (박)지수 형에게 딱 한판 진 것이 패배의 전부다. 그 정도로 테란전에 자신이 있기 때문에 MBC게임과 붙어보고 싶다.
- 마지막으로 하고 싶은 말이 있다면
▲ 먼저 모르고 세팅용 자를 놓고 왔는데 이길만 코치님께서 순식간에 달려가서 자를 사다 주셨다. 너무 감사 드린다.
그리고 지난번 하이트전에서 올킬을 당하며 위기를 맞았는데 팬 여러분들께서는 걱정하지 말고 편하게 경기를 봐주셨으면 좋겠다. 다른 사람들은 모르겠지만 우리 팬 여러분들만큼은 걱정하지 마시고 즐기시길 바란다.
앞으로 남은 기간 동안 결승전 준비 정말 착실하게 해서 반드시 우승을 차지할 수 있도록 하겠다.
