Epic blog by Stephano, too bad there is not translation but that's too much work to do for me... Seriously, it's a shame that millenium does French speaking only coverage, because they really produce excellent content. When Stephano decided to stay in Millenium I really thought that the team was not good enough for him, but I have to admit they are producing some of the best content along with EG, only bad thing is that it's only in French...
Otherwise concening the blog this image made me ROFL:
legend: "one finger for the winner" lol
Also his breakfast with Idra:
Le lendemain matin j'ai pu prendre un petit dej' avec Greg "Idra" Fields, rencontre intéressante ponctuée d'un "bon appétit" de sa part, suivi d'un bon gros silence de 30 minutes : je pense qu'il n'avait pas apprécié ma victoire de la veille.
" The following morning I took breakfast with Greg "Idra" Fields, interesting meeting that included a " bon appétit" from Idra, followed by a good old 30 minutes silence: I don't think he was really happy about my win the day before"
And his meal with Sheth... "Everything is bigger in the US, everything is the amount of food that a zerg player can eat"
|
Hey, I tried translating it, tell me what you think about it, and if I'm allowed to do it It's not finished but I wanted to have some feedback before going further, I'm french so the english may not be that good.
Freshly arrived and a bit exhausted from the trip, I check in the casino hotel, where the competition would take place.
Once I had dropped my stuff, I went out to find something to eat. Not far from the supermarket, I met a charming drug dealer who proposed to sell me his stuff. Not having enough budget for it, I got revenge on food. Entering the lobby, I met Allym Hoang. She asked me for an interview, wich you probably must have seen on the dedicated IPL stream. She then invited me to one of the local restaurants, a Johnny Rockets, where I discovered the local food. It is quite good at first but can become a bit boring after a week.
Then the competition took place. The fact that I was well prepared and that they let me play without shoes allowed me to get very good results et win the heart of many americam fans. I found the crowd to be quite surprising, not being used to this kind of thing. I didn't think I would ever see something like this in Europe, but the ESWC a few weeks later proved me wrong. Thank you all for that! I will go back to that later.
At the end of the IPL, I meet Sheth in a restaurant to celebrate my victory. We chose the most expensive of all the local ones. At our table I quickly noticed how much my american counterpart loved to eat. To clear any last doubts I could have had, the waiter brought a 180$ bill, luckily payed by IPL restaurant tickets. It is clear that in the USA, everything is bigger, even the quantity of food a zerg player can digest.
The next morning, I could take breakfast with Greg 'IdrA' Fields, very instersting meeting punctuated by a 'have a nice meal' from him and then an awkward 30 minutes of silence, I think he didn't appreciate me winning the day before. I then took my flight for Orlando. On the way to the airport I shared a cab with an unknown who was supposed to share the bill aswell. That wasn't the case since he ran off as soon as we arrived, leaving me alone with the driver. But I still got to where I wanted to be. About the MLG, the fatigue was too much for me to enjoy fully the competition. The long waits, the Open Bracket system and its length made it so that I couldn't perform at my full potential untill the end. I hope to make up for it soon.
After a long 22h trip (Orlando ->NY, NY ->Madrid, Madrid ->Toulouse, Toulouse ->Paris), I was back in France. I took what little time I had left before ESCW to rest and prepare for the competition to come.

English translation of Blog. It is big so I spoilered it. Also he does give away his results of the last few major events. Just in case you want to watch them first.
+ Show Spoiler +Having just arrived and a little tired after the flight, I arrived at the hotel of the casino, the place where the famous competition would take place. Once I had dropped off my bags, I went out to meet with my manager. Not far from the corner shoppe, I met a charming drug dealer who offered me some merchandise. Not having enough money for what he was offering, I settled on just getting food. When I arrived back at the lobby, I met up with Allyn Hoang. She asked me to do an interview, that you can probably view at the place IPL dedicated to that. Afterwards, she invited me out to one of the corner restaurants, a Johnny Rockets, where I discovered the local cuisine. The food was good enough at the start, but not really something to eat for a week. Then the competition started. Good preparation between matches and me not wearing shoes during my games allowed me to post really good results and won me a lot of support from the American spectators. I was not really prepared for the crowd, and found it to be a little overwhelming. I never thought I would see anything like that in Europe, but the ESWC a few weeks later showed me otherwise. Thanks to everyone! A little later in the article, I will come back to some really important parts that made this event special. After the competition, I find myself at a restaurant with Sheth, celebrating my victory. (Like total nerd ballers) we chose the most expensive restaurant that was nearby. Once we had been seated, I quickly realized that my American friend really enjoyed food. Confirming my thoughts, the waitress gave us the bill for $180, which we gladly dealt with using the tickets IPL provided. I am forced to admit that in the USA, where everything is said to be larger, so is the appetite of a small Zerg player. The next morning, I ate breakfast with Greg (IdrA) Fields, marked only by a "bon appetie" followed by an awkward 30 minutes of silence: I don't think he was all that happy with my victory form the day before. Afterwards, I headed to the airport to catch my flight to Orlando. I split a cab with a random, who I thought would also split the fair. This was not the case since he just took off once we got to the airport, leaving me with the driver. Despite all that, I made it to the right terminal. Concerning MLG, fatigue really took its toll on me, and I was not able to completely benefit from the competition. The Admins, the Open Bracket and the amount of time really affected the quality of my play. I hope I can make up for that soon. After a 22 hour return journey (Orlando ->NY, NY ->Madrid, Madrid ->Toulouse, Toulouse ->Paris) I was finally back in France. With the little time I had before the ESWC began, I recovered from my previous journey, and prepared for the coming tournament. The first day of the event, Grubby made me unbelievably jealous, to the point of negotiating Cujo with fans... He brought with him a stuffed pink pig that "Kept his hands warm". I seriously considered stealing it, since my own stuffed dog really didn't compare. I didn't have many difficulties during the competition itself. The matches were scheduled back to back all the way up until the finals, where I encountered Mana. An hour before the finals, Mana and I made a deal: The loser would be humiliated by the winner in front of everyone. If I won, he would hold Cujo to his throat and simulate an attack by a rabid animal, falling out of his chair while wrestling the beast. It totally happened, but it wasn't really captured by any of the video cameras. It is interesting to note that I am viewed by a lot of the world as "MouzMana's Bitch" which I sport proudly, having lost 2-1 in a previous ZvP. It is just like they say: Revenge is a dish best served cold. This marks the end of this blog, and we arrive at my reality: Since the start of November, I am back at streaming and coaching. With all of the accomplishments you just read about, I am actually adjusting my coaching rates, which will take place immediately. This is because of my new-found notoriety, and also by my very real desire to provide serious training with my future clients. Here is the link to the updated rates: (See http://i.imgur.com/4F2UD.jpg ) I hope to see more of you through either Coaching, Streaming or at future competitions! [M]Stephano.
First translation, might have missed some idioms in there since it has been a while since I have done French, sorry if it didn't turn out like I hoped!
EDIT: Looks like the person above me did the same thing, though I am English so the French parts may have been missed on me!

Nice translation, a couple things are off but nothing to important.I think translating from french to english is easier if english is your mother tongue, for example I can understand but if I translate something in French in English I will really have a hard time making it sound natural. Only on little thing,I don't know why you added "small" in this sentence: ", so is the appetite of a small Zerg player." . He never said this, and Sheth is anything but small :p .

Thanks for the translations guys.
And yeah, it is easier to translate to your native language because grasping the meaning is easier than expressing it in a good way.

I'd say more the opposite, very macro oriented and fast upgrades. In ZvT he relies a lot on upgraded zerglings and infestors and rushes to hive. In ZvP it's macro monster mode, expands super fast and drones a lot, last games I saw from him he's usually on 70 drones and 4-5 bases by 12mns, maxed shortly after.

Nice to see more foreigners winning for once! Keep up the good work.

I'd say Stephano's style is totally evolutionary. Whereas Idra prefers a macro game almost all the time, Stephano will be more aggressive if the situation allows it (ie. last game vs. Tails). It's really astonishing to see, because most players prefer to set the tone (build order to force opponent to react), while Stephano seems to enjoy using his opponent's build against him.

The "style" they refer the most is mass lings well upgraded, thanks to 2 evo chambers taken simultaneously, all of this thanks to "late" timed gaz (this part beeing inspired by Spanishiwa). Nestea has been recently experimenting alot with this, adding his own stuff to it of course. The quote from Boxer is pretty sick.
|
Just read boxers quote, must be an honor to recive such compliment from him :D
About the styles, i wonder if idrA will also adopt that style when he will play at the korean ladder :/ will be good for him to mix styles, being less predictable

Stephano's stream is hilarious, currently on NA making them his bitches, ostojoy was the first on the list. Catz doged the bullet, epic BM follows (small extract): "with all the money I won, I'm going to buy you some balls"
