This is simply amazing. Finally we can stop having Korea vs. West discussions and just watch some great players play great games.
Eagerly awaiting Techies.

And now i can talk about it... Thank you to my counter-parts at GSL and Blizzard for helping to make this great relationship come together. Just the beginning of many great things coming into Columbus!

Great, great news. Note that placing well at MLG now means you can earn a spot for an all expense paid trip to compete at GSL in Korea for a MONTH.

HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!!!!!!

This is such great news for the community.

Much <3 to MLG, GSL and the Blizzard e-sports team!!!!!!!!

One question, though. Code S doesn't exactly have any open spots, how can you just seed someone into it?

Dr.Chae just mentioned that the Code-S format will be slightly chagned.

Holy crap this is epic. I'm sure there will be hate and praise, but I for one am looking forward to this. I'm sure it will mean more foreign viewers for GSL as well.

I figured JP's megaton announcement was something like this (since he's involved with MLG and it would be huge for esports as a whole).

This is great all around for everybody. Great for the fans who get to see top players play more matches, great for the players who get a shot at code S, great for sponsors due to the increased exposure of their players in other countries, great for the tournament organizations, and great for competition as a whole.

Much credit and <3 to Blizzard, GOM, and MLG.

I'm just waiting for the prize pool to be upped or something, they're putting so much money into the event to be great and everything, but the players aren't playing for that much compared to other events.

Assuming foreigners get 1 month in korea and seeding into code A, I think the prize pool has been up-ed by a shit ton.

Koreans have a shot at code-S - probably the most prestigious status in the korean sc2 scene. Also, the trip is free for them and they get to meet/make more foreigner fans.

Not just Koreans. The code A spot is exclusively for foreigners, but anyone, Korean or not, can earn Code S

wow nice partnership!

Hope every big event organizer would work with the others so that all big events can profit and grow!

I think koreans like to have the foreigners in their tournament and we foreigners like them to compete with us in korea and in the foreign tournaments!

I feel like this is good for the events, players and the viewers/fans!

Nothing to loose and alot to gain so i think it's a good choice for all!

BTW koreans will always have a hard time with our weekend events with tons of games but on the other hand they have a professional structure(teamhouses, coaches etc..) and better competition(ladders, practice partners etc..) so i think it's a win win situation for everyone involved!

and btw MMA, bomber, Losira and moon will be very hard to beat!
