It's probably to set a limit on how many players they are willing to handle. It's like "we will accept all willing to play" but with a limit in case thousands will come rushing in for random reason.

At the moment over 120 players are signed up. I think this is pretty decent for a new tournament. glhf to all!

And of course some of these people may not be who they say they are, but most likely it's fairly accurate.

This is great news, here's hoping that this keeps growing and the popularity gets us some deeper design changes hit when LotV rolls around. + Show Spoiler + I can dream can't I?

I wouldn't count on any design changes for LoTV :/ On the bright side, Blizzard already owns Starbow so there is no conflict of interest really. There's every reason for Blizz to want this game to succeed as it gives them more money and exposure. They might even support a ladder or something if it gets big enough, who knows.

Anyone know if he's streamed any of it? Keep in mind JD said it "sucks" after just a few minutes in the first game he played. He also said "NOT BROODWAR", which it obviously is not and was never intended to be. Also, there was prize money and pride on the line and he was playing against a professional player (Major). He was told it was "Broodwar" in order to get him to play, which was a lie. He had no idea how to play and even had to ask questions in chat during a competition in order to figure out which units were available. It's understandable that he was pissed.
