Funny guy but also a bit retarded (couldn't really count how many tics he has). I personally don't hate him though. He just did what he did to have fun. Even though it might have been annoying for streamers to get sniped in the ladder all the time,I don't think it hurt their viewer base that much, if anything, he made the stream more interesting. So I guess the streamers shouldn't really hate on him either.

thank you for submitting a question. i only had like 5 or 6 questions myself, i'm not really a great interviewer yet (as you can tell by me having no clue whether to look at deezer or into the camera haha). and yes, of all the words that people are using to describe him, i think disconnected is the best. there were several common courtesies that he didn't understand or follow at all, and when i tried to clue him in on some things he was doing that were annoying, he seemed oblivious to change. it's possible it's a french-canadian thing (i've never been to canada nor do i know any of their culture, so i don't know how much of his behavior was 'normal' for someone from montreal), it's possible it was a person-who-spends-all-their-time-online thing (having met most of the notable and high elo players, i can say that MANY of them have really strange personality quirks that other people don't have) or it could have been a deezer exclusive thing. either way, disconnected is a great word for it. glad you liked it!

and let me iterate again that he was rational, talented, and honest during both the interview that i did conduct with him before his tryout, and during practice leading up to the event. any quirks i heard online i chalked up to language barrier. unfortunately, management isn't my only job, i work 50+hours a week at a physical job as well. my time was extremely limited and i was under a lot of pressure to make the right call. i made a huge mistake by not heeding the warnings that a couple TLers sent my way, and in the end, i let the players make the decision. they voted him on 3-1, with one player saying he wouldn't play at all if we didn't pick 1g1d. i did push for using dx30, our substitute, because he's been subbing mid for pr0lly for the past 5 months or so when pr0lly couldn't make it. but a few days before the event, dx30 had a bad game and one of the members of the team attacked him so viciously for it that he just up and left and said don't even bother considering me any more. now why didn't i stop this attack? again, the perils of an 8-6 job :\ it all happened when i wasn't around and wasn't able to keep everyone cool. it sucks. the whole team is under a lot of stress since pr0lly left and tensions are extremely high. just gotta press on though. would it have been worth it to not take 1g1d and have to then replace ANOTHER player? who knows. these 18-20 year olds are all very tricky to deal with

at no point did he come across as mentally challenged to me. it's his persona through and through. too lazy to fully learn english, too caught up in himself to change his attitude. and trust me, hanging around with him WAS enough to turn me off him haha. he was pretty annoying to be around in person and we wouldn't be moving forward with him regardless of this tourney's results. he drove everyone crazy.

yes, i do appreciate his honesty. i don't really feel sorry for him, especially because he doesn't show any remorse, but i am glad he was at least honest about it.

have you seen the movie "unbreakable," with bruce willis and samuel jackson? in it, samuel jackson plays a person with a physical handicap, who manipulates the world around him to cause awful things to happen, including the deaths of many, many people. it's justified in his eyes because he believes that if people like himself exist (those with handicaps), then people on the opposite end of the spectrum exist as well (those with physical extraordinaire). by hurting many many people, he hopes to find someone who survives the pain he inflicts and becomes an exceptional hero because of it. this part is played by bruce willis, a man who never gets hurt, never gets sick, is extremely strong, etc. eventually + Show Spoiler +bruce becomes a vigilante of sorts and finds out the true identity of jackson. jackson reveals that he knows he's a villain but he believed he was doing good in the end. bruce is extremely emotionally torn, of course
i don't want to parallel 1g1d to jackson too much, but there are similarities. he honestly doesn't see that what he was doing was so wrong. you might even argue that 1g1d has a handicap. maybe you are the bruce willis here, sympathetic because he's made you a better person through it all

Not familiar with SC2 at all, didn't know anything about Deezer before this, deleted him off friends list after seeing this, shame that he was a good player and didn't seem to be too much of a malcontent.

Deezer put in a complaint to take it down after people apparently told him "i exploited him" and "made him look like a fool." Since i never actually got written consent to do the interview, we were forced to take it down. Which is pretty crazy since he was clearly consenting to these questions but w/e. i guess he can just fade into nothingness now, RIP in peace
